Wii = $200
I went to check out the Wii at EB games on Friday and they were a **** load of money. They had an offer- Trade in a PS2 Console and 12 games and get a Wii for $200. I got a heap load of accessories that I could trade in with it so I wonder how much I can get a Wii for. $150, $100, FREE?!

So its pretty much 50 dollars off for a ps2 and 12 games. That sounds like a rip, I dont know who would do that.

Agreed, 12 decent games alone could probably bring close to $50, then add a system on top of that. Sounds not so good.

It all depends on your situation, really... in my case, ever since I got an Xbox 360, my PS2 has been doing nothing other than collect dust. I have way more than 12 above average PS2 games... and the same situation applies to my GameCube "collection".
Still undecided if I'm going to trade all of my current gen stuff in for a knockoff in the price of a Wii or PS3...

I could never see myself turn in my PS2 or any of my older systems (N64, SNES) to get a very small discount off a newer system, but thats just me. The reason being I do enjoy once in while going back in playing them, played Zelda OoT (getting excited for TP) and Donkey Kong Country 2 last night. Besides I will sell my SNES when Chrono Trigger hits 100 bucks on eBay so I can make the big bucks. JK

I wish I never did that... I sold off my PS1 and FFVII, probably for $10.

Well, it really depends on how you are looking at it..if you do this(go next gen), chances are you aren't going to be playing the old consoles much. And if you know you aren't going to be playing your PS2 after you go Next-Gen, then it's a good deal...

Agreed...I like to hold onto my older systems, even if the newer systems have backwards capability (See: Playstation 1). I had my original Nintendo for such a long time, but it finally gave out and broke on me. I was pretty upset over that, since so many great games were on that system. I always love going back and playing old games, that's what makes them so great: replayability. I haven't checked EBay, but Im sure I could find one for a decent price though.
With that said..I'm not going to trade anything in order to get $50 off on the Wii. I think I would be losing out of the deal, considering you need above average games in order to obtain the discount.

Good Idea. I'm not sure how much a Wii is worth but I was guessing like $700 so its a good deal imo. If I get a Wii, my PS2 will harldy get used so I guess the best idea would be to get a Wii for a cheaper price.
