Nintendo Wii & GameCubeDiscuss the wide variety of games in general for the Wii & GameCube here. Game may already have its own section in 'Cross-Platform' above.
Guys thanks for keeping up with this thread. I haven't been able to get any of these games. My wireless internet crapped out. Also how is that Life as a King game. I sounds pretty fun.
If you like simulation games, you might like this game. If you like certain Final Fantasy features such as jobs, good storyline, deep characters, etc., you might like this game. If you like simulation games and the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles setting, you will definitely enjoy this game unless you just simply do not think that they should mix like some people think...
I consider WiiWare a low-risk R&D opportunity for large and small developers. That means we might see many different types of games portraying new and innovative ideas, and I like that. My Life as a King is something we may have never seen if we didn't have WiiWare (I mention WiiWare only because FFCC seems like it's Nintendo-exclusive at this point). It is definitely a unique game. I recommend it because it's not something that Square-Enix usually tosses at us.
Having played more, I will say that you are able to change the jobs of your adventurers which will help against certain monsters and in certain areas that you send them to (while I was speaking to one of them, she said that a black mage would have had a lot of fun in the area she was sent to). You can build a number of things like houses, big houses, bakeries, armor shops, weapon shops, item shops, game rooms for recruiting thieves, white mage temples, black mage academies, guilds for raising the limit on how many adventurers you can hire, and all kinds of other buildings.

I couldn't agree with this statement any more than I currently do.
A few days ago, I downloaded the "TV Trivia King" game... and I must admit that it's a pretty fun trivia game to play with a group. My little three year old niece's Mii (controlled by the AI) almost took first place from me... I was very close to being somewhat embarrassed at just the thought.
Dr. Mario Online Rx is probably one of the best WiiWare games that I have played recently... to me, it's every bit as compelling as playing a game of Tetris - if not more.
I've also downloaded Block Breaker Deluxe, which was released on Monday. Long story short, it's basically like playing a game of Breakout or Pong, with the exception of having better graphics and minor gameplay tweaks added. I think it's an average game, and my only (minor) gripe is the fact that it cost as much as it did for the initial download.
Still thinking about downloading that new fishing game that was released this past Monday... it looked kind of interesting when I watched the gameplay video being featured on the Nintendo Channel.
Lost Winds and FFCC My Life As A King are the only games worth buying.
I disagree... Dr. Mario is one of the few WiiWare games that's scored much higher than all of the rest. And this is according to quite a number of reviews that I have read.

I, too, watched the video on the Nintendo Channel, and it looks quite interesting. I am also somewhat interested in Gyrostarr and Family Table Tennis. Hoping to see even better WiiWare games soon, like Mega Man 9. =)
I am new to posting to this site and to forums actually, so please bear with me. hehe. I receive Nintendo Power and EGM and I remember that one of the signature launch games for the WiiWare channel was to be "Major League Eating - The Game". I have been and still am waiting for them to release it. Has anyone heard of this title for the WiiWare Channel, or am I just crazy (well, I am a little).
I also downloaded the game "Block Breaker Deluxe" and it reminds me of "Megaball" on the Amiga computer. It was nice to play this game and love it.

This Major League Eating game was just released earlier this week... I can't find a review for it on IGN... has anyone played it yet?
The preview video that I watched on the Nintendo Channel last night just didn't show me enough to warrant a purchase.
Same goes for Ninja Commando, which was also released earlier this week.
Well on the descrip it says its played with the Wiimote, so it might suck. Throw up and burping countermoves? No thanks, unless sombody is willing to take one for the team and tell us how it is first.

this went through perfectly! didn't think it would happen.
I think I am just going to download Alex Kidd in Miracle World for half the price of this Major League Eating game... not to mention, Alex Kidd got really great reviews almost every place that I read one.
(And it's been a looooong time since I played the game last.)
What about Ninja Commando... anyone played it, or remember it? I can't remember if that game was any good back in the day, and I can't find an online review of it to save my life.
Erm... World of Goo, Megaman 9, FFCC: My Life As A King, Lost Winds and some others I can't think of right now are a definite get. You could probably get World of Goo for the PC, though.
This was just announced today, as I got the announcement in my email. The site features screenshots and a short trailer. I will definitely be getting it, since the first one was very enjoyable.
