Nintendo Wii & GameCubeDiscuss the wide variety of games in general for the Wii & GameCube here. Game may already have its own section in 'Cross-Platform' above.
Actually opposite, its just a game wehre you.... live. You live in a house, and you can run around, iunteract with the townsfolk, and just like any person without a job, have to make money to either make your house bigger, or buy new furniture, clothes, etc.
Unfortunatly, since you cant sling rocks on the corner, or hustle trees, you must try other methods of making money, like catching fish and selling them, picking fruit from trees(which you can also plant and water) or planting flowers just for the plain hell of it or catch bugs and bring them to the museum for recording. You can also get in the turnip biz, which is similar to the stock market. Other than that the game runs in real time and the residents will also remember you as the time passes and form bonds with you as the days progress. They also progressivly move out, ask you to do favors, hold monthly events, celebrate holidays, as well as guests visitng the town on certain days, and new townies always moving in.
Overall its a really different and great game, i just wonder what new features the game will enatil that we havent already seen in "Wild World"

this went through perfectly! didn't think it would happen.
Harvest Moon was a N64 game based in a town where you tried to rebuild a farm. Animal Crossing looks to be very much like it from that video.
Now that you mention it, I watched a Harvest Moon preview video over the Nintendo Channel on my Wii last night... it did somewhat look like Animal Crossing, to a certain extent.
After watching the video, I am happy to say that it appears to be a little more "advanced" than the last version. I like the customizing abilities..... I can see that Nook is still going to rob you blind and that Redd (if he is in the game again)will still charge far too much....
Was there any valid info on being able to "visit" other people's towns?

They briefly talked about that being an option during Nintendo's E3 conference... but as far as solid, concrete information goes - I'm not 100% positive.
I just picked up my copy of the new "Animal Crossing". After the Bears' game is over, I plan on taking it for a spin and I will post my impressions!!!! Can't wait.....nor can my son!
***update***
The game is going to be as much fun as the last. They have gotten rid of the "square" moving. You are now in an "open world" where you are able to travel from area to area without needing to "load" the screen.....if that makes any sense.
I have not gotten too far into it, but one update that I like is that all of the resident homes are not all in one square, like in the original. Now, the 4 resident homes are spread all throughout the map. You also start with an attic, as opposed to just a shack in the first "AC".
This looks like the start to a number of lost hours playing this game that will far outlast the hours I lost in the original!!!!!
Having not played Animal Crossing for about four or five years now, I picked up City Folk a couple of days ago, and I must say that I am very pleased with the game. It's a great way to pass time, but I wish I had more friends who had a Wii. I have one friend who has one, but I think all he's got is SSBB, so I might have to talk him into getting the new Animal Crossing game; it'll be that much more enjoyable that way.
