Nintendo Wii & GameCubeDiscuss the wide variety of games in general for the Wii & GameCube here. Game may already have its own section in 'Cross-Platform' above.
Everyone should keep their fingers crossed because I've been hearing rumors and/or information leaks that Nintendo will more than likely be unveiling Animal Crossing on the Wii during this week's E3 show.
Needless to say, I have the E3 coverage all set to record on my DVR... it starts later today.
As I already posted in the E3 2008: Nintendo thread, they just announced that there will be a new AC game released later this year, titled "Animal Crossing: City Folk".
I'm pretty excited... the game sounds really promising.
Wow. Now Microsoft conference didn't seem so bad, because Nintendo just put out one of the worst E3 conferences I have seen in several years.
It was seriously underwhelming... the hosts of the E3 special on G4TV were saying the same thing, in regards to nothing being shown for the hardcore gamers.
To be honest, I got what I wanted from their conference... Animal Crossing, baby!!!

Eh E3 sucks nowadays anyway, and they have better show outs at thier own respective, Company sponsored events.
But getting back to the point, man im sooooo excited thier makin a wii animal crossing finnally. Even though with friend code garbage, and the same functionality as the DS version, i wont be getting much in the online sense, but just seeing the new functions and being on a broader scale is cooler than cool. Maybe they wil let you start user community cities, then you can have a vgf city, and i can plant booby traps for your asses, and i can mail you guys chairs i found in the garbage dump.

I don't know what show you were watching this year, but the only thing that has sucked about E3 this year would be Nintendo's conference... and the show isn't even completely finished yet.

Ive been to E3 before they changed it around, and trust me, its not as good as it used to. I could say the only problem with the earlier model was that companies would always cast haste on thier employeees to come out with a playable demo that would be rushed and not a good portrail of the final product, or in sonys case, doctored/prerendered photos and tell them it was in game due to lack of time. Other than the convention was alot better than what it is now for the most part, but for the devs, its better how it is now i guess.

Make no mistake about it... it is better now. Now that entry into the convention is by "invitation only", that is. The convention floor is no longer packed with pimply-faced GameStop employees.
Yea, but it has only been video game industry only, now they are extremely narrowed in who comes. Generally only the biggest mebers of the press and the Dev and Pr can really come.
But what i said was true, they do put out better functions at thier own respective Company sponsored events, like sonys annual convention, microsofts gamersday, etc. They get enough time to make announcements without a huge rush, but also theres a good mix of work and play/buisness&pleasure, simillar to how the older E3's should have been.

Which, to me, is exactly the way it should be. Leave media outlets like G4TV there to relay the information to the rest of us who are watching.
I get where your coming from, but from a perspective of someone who is in the video game industry, and then suddenly cant go becuse hes not "big" enough, is not a great thing either. Alot of mad industry folk when they closed out one of the biggest and greatest conventions in video game history. Honestly i think there was a way to cater to everyone rather then just doing what they did, but thats life. I really wanted to go to another one before my time was up, and get me one of those cool bags full of SOCOM.com members only stuff.
