Nintendo Wii & GameCubeDiscuss the wide variety of games in general for the Wii & GameCube here. Game may already have its own section in 'Cross-Platform' above.
I hate it too. I was being patient with Nintendo during the GameCube era, but Wii just pushed me a mile or two away from the console. I dunno about you, but I'd rather have all the popular games on my console, and on top of it all, I honestly was excited for the wiimote, but when I started to use it, I don't know how to use it - so I'm thinking "I'm not wasting my fucking time with a console that forces you to remember a set of new stuff in order to master it all" I'll stick to my trusty controllers, thank you.

Yeah... those 2-5 minutes that I spent learning the new controls on the Wiimote for the first time were vicious.
Sounds like you had your mind made up before you even played it for the first time.
I enjoy the Wii myself. Mostly because it is alot easier to play the older games. :D
There are quite a few "high quality" games on the Wii, in my opinion. Brawl, Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, No More Heroes, Mario Kart, and a couple of others. Those are damn good games and I don't know why people complain about not having "great" games. They are just not games you want to play.

I actually agree with the above poster; and like most of those games, though I got to say I wasn't in love with No More Heroes.
However, I think the sheer volume of great games is a touch higher on the other one, but I may also just have a few preferences the Wii has not done right yet.
For instance, I love NBA games. The Wii hasn't managed to get them right yet, or even get close.

That is what Iam talking about. The system just depends on what games you like. It just so happens that many people are currently interested in FPS's like CoD and Halo. They are just the mainstream of the video game industry right now.
Basically, if you like platformers, you most likely own a Wii.

I have a Wii and a 360. Honestly, I've gotten really bored of 1st person shooter games. Not that I don't like them, they just all look the same to me, as well as feeling that way. I have a few games for 360, such as Oblivion or Assassin's Creed. (and the super cool ultimate alliance that came with it) But other than that, no other games look fun. So then I have the Wii, which is fun to me. I do mind graphics, so it's why I have a 360. But I can put up with the Wii's graphics because though they're not realistic, they're good for what they're suppose to be.
Oh, and there WAS a game coming out for the wii that was complete horror, and it was like during one of the World War's or something. But people complained, and it's date (last time I checked) was set back to December 09.
It's called Sadness.
Quoting IGN:
"Sadness is a horror adventure game aimed at adults with strong nerves. Players will need to confront their greatest fears and protect themselves in hopes of not getting trapped inside the main character’s nightmare. The game has eight different extreme endings each with their own premise, which are assigned to a player based on specific factors during the game. To compliment the intense gameplay, the Wii-mote and Wii Nunchuk control the main character’s hands so players feel as though they are in the psychological thriller.
Genre: Action Adventure
Exclusively on Wii
Release Date: December 31, 2009"
