    Top Albums of 2011

My friends and I had a little music nerdfest recently where we compiled our Top 10 albums of the year.

This sums up my year of music:
    1. M83 - Hurry Up We're Dreaming
    2. Little Dragon - Ritual Union
    3. Fruit Bats - Tripper
    4. Bon Iver - Bon Iver
    5. Active Child - You Are All I See
    6. Blue Sky Black Death - NOIR
    7. The Weeknd - "The Trilogy" (3 Mixtapes released this year)
    8. Givers - In Light
    9. tUnE yArDs - w h o k i l l
    10. SBTRKT - SBTRKT
YouTube playlist (with standout tracks from each album and a few honorable mentions):
Top Albums of 2011 Highlight Reel - YouTube

I personally hate ranking just about anything in my life, so it was a bit of a challenge to narrow the list down, but it's nevertheless a solid list in my not-so-humble opinion. Feel free to share your own favorites...

Great taste in music Swiss. I've heard of a couple these bands, but most of these were new to me and I liked them. Seems like everyone is into techno/dubstep/transformers raping each other type of music these days, and it's good to hear something easy on the ears.

    I don't think I could post 10 albums, but I can name a few.

    1. Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues
    2. Grouplove - Never Trust a Happy Song
    3. The Naked and Famous - Passive Me, Aggressive You
    4. The Black Keys - El Camino
    5. Young the Giant - Self titled

    Gamer IDs

    PSN ID: TEKNlC

Selena Gomez and The Scene - When the Sun Goes Down

Hands down Album of the Year winner.

William Shatner's album would obviously be runner up.

Thanks yo! I can tell by your own little list there we certainly have similar preferences. Enjoy the ones you hadn't discovered yet.

I like/liked dubstep before it was a craze but I feel it has been beaten to a bloody pulp now and I look forward to the next big trend so people can back off of it. You had me at "Transformers raping each other" though. Inb4 someone (I'm lookin at you DeBOG and Mag) lists Skrillex for top album of the year.

I haven't heard the new Black Keys yet - I'm saving it for when I get bored with what I'm currently listening to because I am sure it's something special. I heard Young the Giant open for Incubus this year, they were great. Naked and Famous is certainly in the "honorable mentions" category this year with that album. But I may need to spend more time with #'s 1 and 2 on your list out of curiosity.

Also I should add The Antlers and The Roots have come out with amazing albums, but I didn't consider them for the list because they came out a bit too late in the game for me to consider... both are still very worthy listens though.

Edit: hahahaha... TEK, you fool! I admittedly wasn't privy to that album and YouTubed it for reference; it was just as ****ty as I expected.

I do like techo and Dubstep, and I have for a while, but my ears can take only so much.
