    Robin Williams Suicide

His wife makes a statement almost immediately after his passing. (prepared beforehand...?)

Williams's wife Susan Schneider said "I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken."

Stuff going against it being a suicide:

#1 Movie Stars in their 60's generally don't commit suicide.

#2 He had plenty of money.

#3 Plenty to be proud over during his long, lengthy career.

#4 His wife's statement so soon after his death.

    more soon...

Details so far, according to police :

Robin Williams tried to slit his wrist with a pocket knife but when that suicide attempt failed he hanged himself with a belt.

The Marin County Deputy Coroner says Williams was at home alone Monday when he tried slashing his left wrist, but it only left "acute superficial cuts."

The Coroner says Williams then took a belt, tied it around his neck and secured it between the closet door and door frame. Williams was in a seated position, slightly suspended with his right shoulder against the door.

Robin's personal assistant discovered his body.

There was evidence Williams had tried to harm himself in the hours before his death, Boyd said.

Robin had been severely depressed and went to a Minnesota rehab facility last month.

Lieutenant Keith Boyd said Williams was found in a bedroom by his assistant about noon on Monday. Boyd said toxicology tests will be performed and the investigation is ongoing.

Williams' wife left the home in the morning to run errands, during the time she as away, Robin's assistant came over and knocked at the door but no one answered. She became concerned because Williams was scheduled to be home, and then knocked on the window. When she got no response, she let herself inside and that is when she found Williams.

Monday, August 11 at 11:55 a.m. The 911 call reported a “male adult unconscious and not breathing.” Emergency personnel arrived just five minutes after the call at noon, and Robin was pronounced dead at 12:02 p.m.

It appears that he did not leave a suicide note.

Noreen Nieder said Williams was a friendly neighbor who always said hello and engaged in small talk. Nieder said she felt comfortable enough to approach him and ask him about his latest stint in drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

"He was very open about it," Nieder said. "He told me he was doing well."

(sounds like he was quite determined)

It's super sad, he seemed like a genuine person and his comedic roles were always as funny as they could be. I didn't like his serious roles so much, his long monologues made me want to shoot myself in the ears but I digress.

Great guy, shame it ended like it did. My mother didn't find out til late on today, she teared up. Last time I saw her cry over a famous death was Princess Diana.

Radar Online | Robin Williams Had

But a source close to the Mrs. Doubtfire star tells RadarOnline.com that in addition to his addiction struggle, the actor recently confided to a family friend that he had “serious money troubles,” and was worried about his family’s financial security.

According to a family friend who had spoken to Williams recently, “All he could talk about were serious money troubles. There were clearly other issues going on and Robin sounded distant during the telephone conversation. Robin was known for being so generous to his friends and family during the height of his success, and would help anyone out that needed it.”

“There was also frustration that Robin expressed at having to take television and movie roles he didn’t want to take, but had to for the paycheck,” the source said, referencing his recently announced decision to film Mrs. Doubtfire 2. “Doing sequels was never Robin’s thing, and he wasn’t that excited at having to reprise the role of Mrs. Doubtfire, which was scheduled to start filming later this year.”

He also recently worked on Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, the third installment in that franchise.

In addition, Williams revealed in a Parade Magazine interview last year, that he took a role on the now-defunct CBS show The Crazy Ones because he needed the paycheck.

“The idea of having a steady job is appealing,” Williams told the magazine. “There are bills to pay. My life has downsized, in a good way.”

“I’m selling the ranch up in Napa,” he said of his $35 million Villa Sorriso. “I just can’t afford it anymore.”

Though Williams had one of Hollywood’s most enduring careers, divorce — from first wife Valerie Velardi in 1988, and from second wife, Marsha Garces in 2008 — had gutted his bank account.

“Divorce is expensive,” he recently said. “I used to joke they were going to call it ‘all the money’, but they changed it to ‘alimony’. It’s ripping your heart out through your wallet.”

With financial pressures weighing, the insider said that the cancellation of The Crazy Ones in May sent him spiraling.

“Robin slipped into a deep depression,” the source said. “He felt embarrassed and humiliated that the show had been a failure. It was very hard for Robin to accept. Here he was in his sixties, and forced to take a role on television for the money. It’s just not where he thought he would be at this point in his life.”
