Screaming Mantis or Laughing Octopus ?

On my screen door yesterday.

I was so puzzled I had to look the critter up myself. Their called Ichneumon Wasps. First time I ever seen one. Its big tail in the back was moving around like a scorpion.

Supposedly they do not sting.

we have those near my hometown. We called them "sewing needles" and as far as i remember, they dont sting....but they are ugly as sin.
