I've never played a single Metal Gear game until this one and I only know about the game b/c they used Snake from Escape from New York as a model. This statements about the game not being good are made by run and gunners who don't enjoy story and thought. On Big Boss Extreme then hear every thing you do from reloading you gun to lighting your smokes. I hate when people say a game sucks b/c it's not what they like. I don't like Halo, but I'm not gonna say it sucks. It's just not a game for me.

I differ on some points with the original poster, but in general I'd have to agree that it sucks.

Now before the death threats start coming in, let me just say that it's not a crime to not like the game! I mean, I didn't like the first Spiderman movie much either, but that doesn't mean I should be thrown under a truck.

Yes, I wrote a blog about it! Only because MGS is such a phenomenon, and I was highly anticipating this sequel, and I was so disappointed -- my only blog was the only forum where I could write my opinion without getting totally shut down by everyone who looooooooves the game. I don't have a prob with the people who love it, just know that I think MGS4 sucks.

I'm sorry, sir, but I had to stop reading when you got to the smoking in the game. It's very hard to believe that, in roughly 2 and a half weeks time, MGS4 took you from non-smoker to knocking out 2 packs a day. It just doesn't happen.

I understand people have games that they will hate and think that they will suck, but the reasons you posted about why MGS4 sucks are among the dumbest I've ever seen.

For example, blaming the game because you started smoking two packs of cigs a day. Either you made this up, or are the weakest person mentally ever.

I also don't understand why people are making a big freaking deal about the Cut scenes too. Sure they're a little excessive bu shut up, sit down, and enjoy them because there is no other game that has acting and animation like this. If you even played the previous Metal Gears you should know what to expect.

^^I agree. I can't take someone serious with the smoking and a name that literally says this game sucks.

Although, you suggest that you're an open person even to people who love this game...I can't take you seriously. But, good effort with the input.

Also, like everyone else is saying...you should expect what's to come in an Metal Gear game.
