Firstly, there are quite a few Emblems that aren't exactly good:
Centipede: Must continue 26 times.
Chicken: Must trigger 150 alerts, kill 500 enemies, continue 50 times, use 50 health items, and complete the game after 35 hours of play.
Cow: Must trigger 100 alerts.
Jaguar: Must trigger 76 alerts.
Leopard: Must kill 76 enemies and continue 26 times.
Panther: Must trigger 76 alerts and kill 251 enemies.
Puma: Must trigger 76 alerts, kill 251 enemies and continue 26 times.
Spider: Must kill 251 enemies and continue 26 times.
So.. are these ones that you should still want to get??
Secondly, why are there so many of the Emblems contradictory? Like Puma is basically Centipede, Jaguar, Panther and Spider together.
A lot of IGN's guide confuses me to be honest.
The IGN guide can be found at: Guides: Metal Gear Solid 4 Guide (PS3), Metal Gear Solid 4 Walkthrough
Thanks for any help guys. Hope you can help me make sence of all this.

I basically CQC'd him to death. But once he gets to Ocelot you have to straight up fight him.
Once hes at about 33% health they turn old and you just have to tap R1 like crazy.
(in case you are having trouble beating him)

Thanks guys, They've been added to the list.

Well I have already completed the game on Normal. I am now playing on Big Boss. I just want to know exactly everything about the Emblems.
Can anybody help with my questions?

why are there so many of the Emblems contradictory? You use the emblems online for pics or something, all that i know at the moment is that they are used for the clans system.
Also heres a few more libertine, actually alot more lol (Im not sure if you have these or not, and im also not sure if all of these are correct, im reading the limited edition guide but im having trouble reading the math parts.. O.o)
Fox Hound: No use of stealth camo or bandana, Big Boss Hard or higher. (No rations, regain or noodles may be used for fox hound, fox hound also no kills or continues and must be done with in 5:30 hours, lastly under 3 alert phases)
Fox: Same as above but on normal or higher. (So doing the first will get you both.)
Hound: (Same, do first and you get this one too.)
Mantis: Beat game in under 5:00 hours (Same rules as the ones above but no alert phases)
Pidgeon: Play entire game without killing a single soldier and defeat each beauty with non lethal ammunition or stun grenades
Raven: beat game in under 5 hours
Octopus: Complete game with without getting an alert.
Pig: Use 40 or more rations, noodles, regains.
Crocodile: Kill 400 or more enemies? not sure about the ones from here and below, im bad at math......
Scorpion: under 25 continues. under 250 kills. under 75 alert phases.
Tarantula: Same as scorpion i think...
centipede: Same as scorpion???
Wolf: No continues or rations, regains or noodles

I just think that the ones I posted above are all practically the same thing.
Also I just wonder, they are hardly good (like Chicken for example), so just making sure this is an emblem you want to get, along with the others that are not so good.

I am going to go for the Altair costume right now.
I exploited the first act, and I just sniped enemies and they kept respawning. I wasn't detected, and I got my 50 kills right off the bat.
As for the 50 CQC holds...I got all 50 on a never ending flow of enemies, but I was spotted 13 times in Act I. Since I don't have to do that anymore, I think I should be good for the rest of the game.

Well I'm just trying to figure out if getting them all is a good thing or if the crappy ones you should avoid.
btw all those ones you posted in your edit are all in the link I posted.
These Emblems just confuse the hell out of me tbh, so many that do the same thing.

MGS4 Guide
Stealth Item - Complete a single-player session without instigating a single alert (caution is okay, but not alert). You can do this on any difficulty.
Bandanna - Complete a single-player session without killing anyone (including bosses). You can do this on any difficulty.
Roy Campbell - Shock Colonel Campbell using the Metal Gear II during the intermission scene.
Otacon - Shock Dr. Emmerich using the Metal Gear II during the intermission scene.
Big Boss - Earn the Big Boss emblem on a single-player session by doing the following: instigate no alerts; kill no enemies (not even bosses); do not continue (at all); do not use life recovery items (at all); do not use the stealth suit or bandanna special items (you may possess, but not activate them); and complete the game on Big Boss Extreme difficulty under 5 hours.
Altair's Rags - Earn the Assassin's emblem on a single-player session by doing the following: kill or stun 50 or more enemies; CQC hold 50 or more enemies; and be discovered fewer than 25 times.
Infinite ammo bandana: Successfully complete the game without killing any enemies. Alternately, purchase it from Drebin for 5,000,000 DP after starting another game session after completing the game.
Metal Gear Solid optical camo: Successfully complete the game without going into alert phase. Alternately, purchase it from Drebin for 5,000,000 DP after starting another game session after completing the game. This camo makes you completely invisible.

I just have a few questions does destroying APC, Gekkos, and the drones count as killing? Cause some places you need to kill gekkos to protect MG rex, kinda confusing, and also defeating Mantis you don't have a choice but to use the doll, I am just afraid of killing ppl and having to waste more time. Also does going into caution count as alerts? Cause I want to get both stealth and bandanna in one go.
Can you use Stealth camo to get altair's coustume?

I think he meant the rat pt 1 encounter with the frogs,
and no you can't kill any of them if you want to get the frog statue;
but other than that by all means.

I am almost positive that killing the gekko and drones do not count as kills seeing how they are unmanned but the apc I am not to sure about, you can use the doll on mantis that is not a problem, it is just when the bosses go into beauty mode you have to use non-lethal ways of getting rid of them.
You can use stealth for Altair’s costume, because to achieve the assassin’s ranking it does not say you can not use stealth.
I hope I helped to answer you questions.
