Trailer totally made me hard, completely reminded me of the beginning of Aliens.
I agree.
The sound effects at the end of the trailer with the planet horizon shot reminded me of something out of the Star Trek movies, only better. This game is going to be sooo good.
Either way, I'm still picking it up. I just hope that's something to throw us off. And, knowing game developers, there's a 99.999repeted% chance of that being true.
I don't reckon he (She in my case, if you have the choice to either watch a blokes arse for the duration of the game or a womans, I choose a woman.) will be killed off. They've said from the start that you carry your character through the trilogy. That for me was a massive selling point, along with practically everything else about it; I doubt they'll change that. It'll be a plot device.
The thing I'm worried about is the rumours of being able to play as another species, as long as it's not forced on you I don't mind. If you can start a new character though it's going to be difficult to resist, which again goes against their promise of carrying one character through. If you start a new character that belongs in a different race you won't have played as them in the first game...
ANYWAY, here's hoping the elevators aren't as often, the combat is glossed a little and it's just as awesome as the first.
There's no way they would tell you that the hero of Mass Effect is dead in the first teaser. We will learn more in time, but I can say that Shepherd is not KIA; what Blarg said about being able to carry your character through the trilogy is true, and killing someone of utmost importance between games is extremely poor, and I don't think BioWare is capable of doing such a thing.
Soo when I heard about this... I freaked out , but then I was like hm... Wait what if I killed Wrex in the first game , is he gonna magically be alive in the 2nd? or ... are they just gonna do a compete spin off and all the characters from 1 won't be in 2... but then I went to barns and noble and found my answer thank god...In one of the gaming mag it said that your save file from the previous game is going to transfer over to the new one.....So if you let certain people die in the first game they wont be in the 2nd. So yay I get to see Kaiden again which is Win for me~
But yea I have been waiting for this one for awhile ... I thought I read somewhere that it was going to be out late this year... not 2010 cuz I dont wanna wait...>.> and idk.. I don't think Shepard is dead... Shepard is a Gangster and we all know gangsters dont die XD....

That's an epic fail, if you ask me... as I stated earlier in the Mass Effect thread, I was only too happy to let that schmuck go off and die on the "suicide mission" near the end of the game's storyline. In my opinion, he was an even more annoying character than Raiden turned out to be in MGS2.
Trailer looks pretty good... I just hope that the developers decide to release any potential DLC for the game within a reasonable time-frame.
Count me down as this being a plot devise as well, for every reason Toast said.
Don't stare at the male characters asses then. You all obviously have a problem that you have to make female characters to keep you from staring at male ass.....
I preferred the "strong" leader type person so I obviously went with a male. Women are not supposed to be on the battlefield anyway so the hell if I was going to make the first true Human Spectre a chic!
Can't wait for this game! When I heard that the character from 1 would carry over to 2, I had to replay the whole game, to make sure I made choices I was happy with (picked Kaiden, killed Ashley, saved Wrex).
One thing I'd like to see in this one is people reacting a bit more to Shepard's actions. If she doesn't something really reprehensible, the "good" characters should react badly to that. The opposite should be true as well. More like Kotor in that respect.
