I'll keep an eye on it and play in the beta if I can. I'm getting the feeling it'll be like S3. Wide open maps, more players. If it is so wide open, they should take an idea from America's Army and factor wind and distance into sniping.
They should simply limit the number of snipers allowed on each team. If the basic unit is eight men, then only one of them should be a sniper. Thats still sixteen on each side, but at least its not two hundred.

This game seems to be coming on nicely.
Yea I agree, this will limit the camping snipers and it will add realism to the game. I really hope they add this in. Is there any word on vehicles yet? I am really hoping they don't vehicles in.
Judging by the video that I've seen on the game, it looks highly likely that there will be vehicles in the game...
As long as they limit it somehow. I just don't want it to turn into halo where people's only goal is to get into a vehicle and drive around doing nothing. From what I have heard this game is going to depend a lot on team work so people just taking cars and driving around is going to kill that.
Well, maybe have an option to limit the amount of weapons each team gets. They only get so many assault rifles, so many machine guns, etc. Seems a little unfair to discriminate against snipers only. I dislike being shot in the face from 2 timezones away as much as the next guy (okay, not as much), but it just doesn't seem like that would be the way to go. What if the guy who's the only sniper sucks, and the guy who's good at sniping can't do so because of that? What if not every squad has a sniper? Can one of the other squads have two then, or does that left-over spot just stay open for that squad only? I doubt that everyone will be sniping, or that every squad will have a sniper. Personally, I prefer the option to limit the amount of weapons each team gets more. For one, it's more realistic. Also, it allows more variety while still being limited.

just curious because i was planning on getting a PS3 this summer.....does it have anything like party chat? i am so use to bullshyttin with friends when we play i dont want to get a system that is mostly a silent experience.maybe xbox has ruined me on this but just how i feel....if i were to get MAG i want to bullshyt with friends while we play not just go by the hand signals...and if they want it to be so real then i shouldnt have got out of the military. to me FPS can be ruined if they try and make them too real.....realisim to a point should be left to the real thing......you want people to die after 1 or 2 shots??join the military....you dont want a respawn system....join the military.....you want to have to follow orders from some dude who thinks hes gods gift to strategy....join the military.
i dont mind some realism but again i game to have fun not relive my military experience.

It does, but you can't be playing anything when you're using it.
Hardly anyone uses their mics on PSN, and I used to chalk that up to the system not coming with one. But even on Socom Confrontation half the people didn't have mics and that game came with one.
And in MAG you can only play with your friends if they've enlisted in the same faction as you. It's not like picking teams either. You make your character, enlist them, and you're locked into that faction for an undisclosed period of time.
I'm pretty sure I said this earlier, but they should give you a trial period (a week or two) when you first sign into the game to test out each of the factions and then have you decide which one you want to be in. That way, you're not going into a faction without knowledge of each one's strengths and weaknesses, and you know which one you like.

Quite a few people have been getting messages on the playstation site (and in emails), about them being invited to the Mag beta (beta is not up yet though).
I did not get one...How can the beta king not get one? *cries*
Or they're tired of giving you every invitation of every game.
Anyways, it looks like I'll check out my e-mail account more often or hopefully they will do the same way as Uncharted 2 (you received one without any invitation if you're a G.A.P member).
