We hear a lot about the debate between which is better: 3ds or PS VITA. Now I'm going to do a breakdown between both systems and then we will compare the two.

The 3ds is the 5th model of the Nintendo DS series made by Nintendo. It has a dual screen with 3D on the top and touch screen on the bottom. It was released in February 26th, 2011. As of December 31th, 2012, the 3DS has sold approximately 29 million copies.

The PS VITA is a handheld game system made by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is the successor of the PlayStation Portable. It has a one touch screen with 2 analog sticks. It's release date was December 17th, 2011. As of June 30, 2012, the PS VITA has sold 2.1 million copies.

Now it's time we compare both systems. People say the VITA is better because of all of its apps and others, but the lack of the games. The others say the 3DS has way more better games but not as much apps as the VITA. As Of all the reviews it's a close call and everyone has there opinions. So what do you think is better after review?

I have both. I had both a DS and PSP and history is repeating itself exactly for me, which is to say that neither is better. There are some games which are more suited to 3DS and some which are more suited to Vita. I will play my 3DS for weeks at a time while my Vita gathers dust, and then I will do the same with my Vita. As for the Vita having no games, it's kind of true, but it was also trueish of the PSP. The upside is that there is very little tat on the system, and there are still a few games that I want that I haven't picked up yet anyway. Also, even if Vita game production stopped tomorrow, I have enough content as of right now to keep me going for about the next two years. So in all I'm a very happy camper with both systems.

    Cheers Raavyn for the sig!

Yes I looked at the games I would get if I had the Vita and the remaining games I would get for the 3ds. Surprisingly, I found 5 games each that I would get and even recommend. I see for the Vita the only games I would get is sports games and not americas favorite Battle Royale. I believe that game is a total copy of Super Smash Bros Brawl. I will never play that game because its a complete disaster of a game. For the 3DS, its all about Mario. For the 5 games will just be all Mario, Mario, Mario. Which isn't as bad as everyone expects. So to me I would get 60% 3DS and 40% Vita

This helped me out a lot and cleared some questions up of mine.

I have both consoles. I love my 3DS, even if it is region locked and I now have to import every game I want to play, but I do thoroughly enjoy the experience.

That being said, I really wish they'd make more games for the VITA. I understand why developers don't as it's not selling any where near as many systems but my god does it need more games. Apps are nice and all but at the moment this thing is just sitting next to my computer doing nothing but gathering dust.

I have both systems, the PS Vita and a 3DS XL, and hands down for me, the 3DS is the more enjoyable one. Mainly because of Nintendo's own titles, but also because of the button layout of the Vita. The Vita has some really nice games, but I find myself tapping other buttons of the four circle buttons when I try to press the action button. The reason for this is because of the thumbstick directly below them being in the way. I don't have that issue with the 3DS.

As much as I love analog thumbsticks on console controllers, and I know twin sticks on their handheld makes it more desirable, I do believe Sony should have left the right stick out - or, perhaps, moved it above the four circle buttons. One thing that comes to mind is making it so the stick can be removed when not needed - which is most of the time in my experience.

I believe Nintendo has a lock on portable systems, though.
