Anyone else pissed off with the Nintendo 3DS?

(maybe I'm a fanboy without realising! I just like quality games, regardless of platform)

I like quality games as well, but the way I see it, Nintendo barely has a handful of AAA titles available at this time on any of their platforms... they seem pretty content with being merely average.

The 3DS is incredibly innovative. Lets see what games they can produce...because when Nintendo put their minds to it...they can make the best quality entertainment in the world, no doubt.

Just like any other Nintendo handheld, it'll probably be five years before I buy one used. The whole 3D aspect of it actually irritates me more than anything else. I don't give a fig leaf for 3D to begin with, and even though I know there's more to it than just the 3D aspect, it just generally puts me off the whole system anyway.

Nintendo is losing me.
I was slipping when they were coming out with several different variations and upgrades of the DS that all cost an arm and a leg on release, and now they've pretty much cut the thread with the 3DS.

3D in cinema drives me insane;- what is the point? If you like 3D films, go to the theatre! It doesn't make the story any better does it?

However, I want to give 3D a chance when it comes to games because there is scope for it to actually be utilised in some cool and useful way.

Agree with you on the constant DS upgrades though. That was lame.

I've been playing Star Fox and I think it's fantastic. It's the first game on the 3DS that doesn't make my eyes swim IMO.

That's a pretty fair point, actually. Maybe I'm starting to get too old in the handheld console camp, haha. I'll just sit around and watch where things go. Who knows, maybe they'll come up with something I'd actually consider putting money into again.

Ever played Knights in the Knightmare? Now that was a dense, dense, adult DS game.

and the fact that they're making professor layton & the mask of miracles on 3DS and not on normal DS.
T____T ffs. and the same with the legend of zelda. why don't they continue to make these awesome
games on normal DS?

They do that just so you buy a 3DS. That's why they release a new system every few years, and not just update the current one. I'm a fan of it myself so far. I haven't had any problem with it except MAYBE some of the 3D effects sometimes.
