I pcked this thing up at midnight, and after getting it setup and transferring all my product regs to the new club nintendo service, i have to say, this is one of the most drastic system changes since the Gameboy SP. I know to alot of people it seems like the same old DS lite, but damn, you couldnt pay me to go back to a Ds lite.
The Ui is completely overhauled and has the Wii Channel effect, plus does everything better than old DS interfaceand doesnt have to reboot after everything.
The camera for being less than a megapixel is clear enough, and lets you switch from the one facing you to facing outward easily and has 11 filter lenses for a shitload of editing
The Matte finish is definitely sexier than the lite glossy finish, for a more premium look
Internet is fast and more accessible than the PSPs browser(touchscreen FTW)
Music editing is a blast as is the voice recorder, and just having an SD card opens up alot of opportunities for future Apps and things Nintendo might want to do with the handheld.
The DSi has internal memory for downloading some apps,900 blocks actually. So those wondering "should i trade my lite in for a Dsi?" yes mother******!
The number one reason to purchase a DSi or at least trade in that crappy lite, is for the Dsi shop. I cannot say enough about the Dsi shop. This alone makes the Dsi worth having, and with this new interface there is so much they can do and add to it, plus they do everything with that unmatchable Nintendo charm. (Not to mention their giving out 1000 free points just by going into the Dsi shop.) Im downloading brain age math express right now....
Some pics just for people who like pics.

I got my DSi about two hours ago, and I absolutely love it. I totally skipped the DS Lite; I had planned on getting one, but before I did that, I heard about the DSi and decided to wait, and I am very glad I did. The features it offers makes this seem like it's part of an entirely new generation of hardware.
Everything styles said above is true, and I agree entirely. 'Nuff said.
I'm still not convinced. I'm not going to trade in my DS Lite, then pay another £75 (what's that, like $100 now?) for the privilege of being able to give Nintendo even more money in the DSi store. To be honest, I use the PSN and XBL store a fair amount, but the Wii Store I barely use at all, except for episodes of Strong Bad, and that's multiplatform anyway. I don't see myself wanting/needing to use the DSi store much at all really, so just having a store available and a new UI doesn't sell it to me, I'm afraid, and the cameras will get old after about 30 seconds. I think they've priced it way too high, to be honest. I think it should be priced the same as the DS Lite, and then that machine phased out.
EDIT: £75 is actually $111.95 right at this moment, for those that care.

Its truly something you have to have to appreciate, and ive shown my dsi to about 30 people now, all who have said something along the lines of ,oh shit i don't want my ds lite anymore. and with he ds now having internal memory, theres alot nintendo can do as far as app channels and other system updates go, and when shit starts rolling, no one is going to want their plain old crappy ds lite. The camera still has not gotten old for me, it has more charm than the Wii photo channel.

It is something you really do have to appreciate. I've been having all kinds of fun with the camera and effects. I'm eagerly awaiting new DSiWare, too. So far I've gotten Aquio, and I am thinking about getting WarioWare: Snapped!, but I want to wait and see what comes out next week first.
I've seen it when I went to a con, and it looked pretty nice. I've had my blue ds forever and I can't think of getting rid of it, because it still works. But I want the new one so much.
The features seem amazing, but the only thing I don't like is that you can't play gameboy advanced games on it. I guess the memory would make up for it.
Id say do it, i seem to play my ds alot more now that its not a fatty. And i scored it for 120 bucks(3 of them) just by trading them into gamestop for thier promo. Nintendo somehow managed to push 435,000 of these in the first week in the us alone, which is damn good i say.

To be quite honest, I've been thinking about trading in all of my Wii crap in for one of these new Nintendo handhelds... after reading the article covering the DSi's launch in the new Game Informer, it actually sounds like something that I'd play 100 times more than I currently play anything on the Wii.
Still not 100% convinced, though... I still feel like I've been burned by Nintendo in the past... in regards to previous handheld models that I have owned over the years.
I might be picking one up today. If I have the time I'll go into Best Buy or GS and I'll decide... I have the money I just shouldn't be spending it lol
I picked one up today and it was definitely worth it. I haven't had enough time to play it but it was definitely a good buy and I can already tell it'll keep me very busy when i have free time
also to anybody who is considering upgrading Gamestop is still doing thier trade in promo. Trade in a ds lite for 70$ off purchase of a new Dsi or 50$ off if your trading in the old fatty. Ge t a new Dsi for just 100 bucks plus tax, its a pretty good deal.

is the DSi really that badass? i heard a lot of things like its slow and the internal memory is small, i'm temped to get one when i get enough money but i'm not sure. right now i got the lite and i wunna know are the graphics better or something or is it just the built in bonus crap like taking pictures and voice recording (note im going but internal stuff not any bought add ons)
