I am a 16 year old kid and the ds games seem to keep getting a little more underage. I like fast FPS , and strategy/puzzle games, and im not to worried about the screen interlacing issue (it dosnt seem that big of a deal i think its better than ghosting).
in short no. Your better off trading in your ds for a dsi, The ds is packed more of strategy puzzle games than the psp and the dsi is a hell of alot cooler.

Well, they're both completely different kettles of fish. If you like the type of games the DS has to offer, then no. If you like the stuff on PSP, then yes.

Im just generally speaking, besides PSP's complicated modding capabilities, The DSi has alittle more out of the box bang right now, and with the sd card slot who knows what theyll come up with.

What's the market value for a used, original DS? That should answer part of your question.
its till good for trading in towards a new ds i think. I think they'll give you a DS lite for 89.99 with trade in of any DS. I need to see if i can trade in 2 DS fatties towards a DSi.

I have a DS Lite and a PSP, and overall, I think the PSP is a better playing device. I like the shooter games and stuff, so the DS really doesn't do it for me. The only game I really like on DS is Final Fantasy 4, and that's on the PSP now, I think.
Do you want to play little kid games or do you want to play FPSs?
For the former, go with the DS, for the latter, go with a PSP.

Guy, we've had this discussion before, and besides a very small number of games, the DS's library of good games owns the shit out of the PSP's, can we say chrono trigger?
As far as FPS games on PSP go, those are POS's, and i wouldn't recommend those to anyone.

Please, that shit is way too complicated for the average user, too annoying to keep up with, and the 1000 doesn't even have enough memory to run skype. Dont use Piracy as a selling point, its childish.
Trade in your ds lite to gamestop for 70 bucks towards a DSi, and get it for 100$.
I think thats freakin awesome. I just traded all three of my fatties in for 50$ each towards two blacks and a blue DSi and all i pay is 300 bucks plus tax for three.

1. Piracy is NOT my selling point. I do not advocate piracy in any way, nor should anyone. Its one of the reasons not many psp games are beingn made right now, however, that seems to be turning around.
2. Its not complicated. You can either go online and looka t simple tutorials OR have a friend do it. If you know anyone with a Pandora Battery, not too hard.
3. Dude, just go on dl.qj.net and go to psp section and look at ALL the stuff available, games, emulators, apps its worth the so-called "complication"
4. Library is better thatn psp? Thats is your point of view. The fact is that the DS has too much shovelware on its system. actual GOOD games such as chrono trigger are a dime a dozen. ALSO, right now the psp is the underdog. ERGO, the prices on games are really low. god of war for 20 dollars? Daxter for 5? Megaman Powered up for 10? Everything is budget price and the best things is, its all available because there are people who feel "there arent enough new games coming out for the system". I dont understand why they dont pick up old games that are good...

First of all, telling people to buy a psp so they can illegally download and pirate videogames on an emulator is marketing piracy as a selling point, and if you think even for a hot second that this is reason for the lack of psp games, you are sincerely ignorant.
Secondly, the DS does have alot of shovelware due to its cheap cost, but so did the PS2. but fact is the DS has more good games coming out than the PSP nowadays even has coming out period, so if your smart enough to know what games are good and what games are not, it isn't even an issue.
secondly, to a large percentage of people, modding a psp has a very large learning curve, especially for your average user.
And as far as budget pricing......... No one buys psp games, thats why they don't sell them for 50-60 bucks anymore, and they hit bargain bin prices as soon as they hit the shelves. You do know that less than 5 psp games have sold over a million copies(and none over 2mil) right? Probably because of people like you who mod and download all their games.

In fairness the DS is even easier to pirate games on, and that (and its games) has sold by the absolute bucketload, so I'm not sure that's the reason the PSP hasn't done as well as it otherwise might have.

i was trying not to be mean aobut it, but the reason the psp games dont sell is because no one really wants a psp. There is an audience for it, but its not for everyone, and thats the major flaw of the system.

1. Okay, first of all, i never said to pirate old roms. I said you could play emulators? super smash Bros? I said yes. Its a POSSIBILITY. I personally dont play it, im merely saying its a POSSIBILITY
2. Ummm yeah... psp games NEVER retailed for 50-60 dollars. The highest price was 40 dollars. Do your research.
3. The DS is easy to hack. Far easier to hack than the psp. the reason people dont do it is partly because THEY DONT KNOW ABOUT IT. If people know more (and if they could afford the 8- dollar R4 cards) more people would do it. this is what im anticipating with the DS-I. Nintendo is stupid because they are BEGGIN hackers to swoop and invent piracy for it. In fact, the japanese DSi has ALREADY been hacked by the manipulation of a music file. So im sure that the Dsi may, albeit on a smaller scale perhaps, suffer the same problems as the psp
4. so when you say that no one buys psp bargain bin titles, are you speaking for the world? maybe not everyone feels the way you do about psp games. And maybe yes, psp games underperform, maybe more so than DS games. But its not the hackers to blame. Its used games sales. If used games didnt exist, sony wuld make MUCH more money. Blame bloody gamestop for it. Thats what i do.
5. 5 games have sold more than 2 million? Okay maybe so... but i would much rather have 200 okay games than 600 games where 90 percent of them are complete crapthe perecntages are an estimate of what DS games i have played, before i traded in my ds for a psp

Bullshit. You seem to forget that Gamestop and their ilk sell used games across all formats. If Gamestop only sold used PSP games and only sold new games across other formats, your theory would hold water, but all formats suffer the same from used game sales as Sony do from the PSP, and that includes Nintendo and the DS. In fact I'd imagine Nintendo would suffer even more because its game library is composed of a lot more crap than the PSPs is, which equals a lot more games being traded in. The reason the PSP isn't doing well isn't because of used game sales, it's because Sony stopped caring. They even admitted as much themselves.
For gawd's sake, don't beleive all the crap you read about used game sales killing the industry. They've been around forever, and more importantly, once someone owns any product, they are free to do what they wish with it, no matter how much devs would like to think otherwise.
