1. Okay, first of all, i never said to pirate old roms. I said you could play emulators? super smash Bros? I said yes. Its a POSSIBILITY. I personally dont play it, im merely saying its a POSSIBILITY
2. Ummm yeah... psp games NEVER retailed for 50-60 dollars. The highest price was 40 dollars. Do your research.
3. The DS is easy to hack. Far easier to hack than the psp. the reason people dont do it is partly because THEY DONT KNOW ABOUT IT. If people know more (and if they could afford the 8- dollar R4 cards) more people would do it. this is what im anticipating with the DS-I. Nintendo is stupid because they are BEGGIN hackers to swoop and invent piracy for it. In fact, the japanese DSi has ALREADY been hacked by the manipulation of a music file. So im sure that the Dsi may, albeit on a smaller scale perhaps, suffer the same problems as the psp
4. so when you say that no one buys psp bargain bin titles, are you speaking for the world? maybe not everyone feels the way you do about psp games. And maybe yes, psp games underperform, maybe more so than DS games. But its not the hackers to blame. Its used games sales. If used games didnt exist, sony wuld make MUCH more money. Blame bloody gamestop for it. Thats what i do.
5. 5 games have sold more than 2 million? Okay maybe so... but i would much rather have 200 okay games than 600 games where 90 percent of them are complete crapthe perecntages are an estimate of what DS games i have played, before i traded in my ds for a psp
Im grining right now. From your incorrect info, you dont even have a clue. You must've hoped on the PSP bandwagon when the psp2000 came out.
1.) PSP games were 40-60.00 at launch and months after the initial buzz, you dont know what your talking about. Fuck research, i was actually a gamestop employee at launch who worked during the midnight sale and my first three titles(need for speed, ridge racer, and something else) were all 50$ each. Obviously you'd know if you bought any psp games at the time.
2.The DS is easier to hack, but at this point who cares? they have the market hands down and they need alot of the features of the Dsi to stay competitive, because thats where the market is heading on handhelds. Plus, witht he DS beaing a couple of years to the end of its life cycle, its good R&D for what Nintendo may want to put in their next handheld.
3.) I never said people dont buy psp bargain titles, i said they dont buy psp games period, so they end up bargain bin as soon as they release. Only about 3 games have sold past a million units, not 5, and the highest was like 1.5 mil, which was GTA. and the psp doesnt have 200 okay games. they barely have 30 ok games, and the rest are just bad ps2/psx ports. I mean, you can argue all you want because you expect the psp to have better games, but then the figures come out and.....

FINE, im sorry for giving incorrect price quotes. MY BAD! FYI, i bought the 1000 before the 2000. I ALSO have a 2000, with unhackable motherboards. Thats the one i play, i dont even use my hacked one. The ony time i use my 1000 is to play CSPSP online with friends.

Competitive? No they dont. I dont see SEGA coming in and swooping on the market. People wouldnt have cared if the DSi was NEVER announced. People are perfectly happy with their DS and as you said, "They have the market hands down"
So would people really care if they already are in control in the market and keep releasing all the games they are right now? No they wouldnt. And i care, because i had a DS which is "hacked" if you could even call it that.

Ports? i challenge you to name 10 psp games which are ports. Go ahead try.
30 ok games? Decided by whom? video game editors on gamespot who have been playing games for 30 years? everyone has diffrent opinions (including ME and YOU). Maybe what gamespot says isnt what everyone thinks o.O
3. No one cares if you are a gamestop employee. All that says is you spent your days peeling on price stickers. GOOD FOR YOU!

Dont try to judge me because your loosing an argument. Its not about the fact that i worked at gamestop, its just the fact that i know a hell of alot more about videogames than you sir.
As far as being competitive, sure nintendo has the market now, but when they release their next generation handheds IT HAS to have all of the features that things like the PSP or IPOD already have. Even nintendo cannot ignore the huge demand for multimedia capabilities that people have been clamoring for in their handhelds, and i doubt they will totally just sit on thier lead, and the DSi proves that.

Styles, I never, EVER, thought I would agree with you on anything. BUt, you sir, have hit the nail on the head.
People don't want numerous devices for everything. That's why the iPhone was such a huge hit, its a music player, an internet browser, and a phone all in one device. That's why the PSP has video, and music playibility. The DSi will need stuff like that to be the next big handheld hit. Aside from the DS destroying the PSP, they want people to buy the DSi and not even consider a PSP. They want comsumers to look at the DSi and see it playes video, and music and can show you photos, so they look at the PSP and think, "The DSi does this, and I already love Nintendo, why switch?" Granted, there is no telling what the PSP 3000 is going to offer. They are both good systems in their own way, its just the PSP isn't anything extraordinary. When I think handheld, I think NIntendo Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, and DS. Or the Sega Gamegear. .
I also agree with Styles, that the DS game lineup is much better than that of the PSP. The amount of games that have been released on the PSP are horrid, the numbers are terrifying really, if the company wants to continue to have a chance in the handheld market. GTA, SOCOM, are the only two titles that I can think of off the top of my head that are decent. Even with that, they aren't playable on the PSP, the screen is too small for TPS or FPS. And the load times are horrible for games like GTA (Granted I never played this so I don't know for sure). But the DS uses games that aren't hard on the hardware, and play nicely. Whether it be that Ninten Dogs, or the Mario series. They all play well, and people like them.
The PSP is really an epic fail, and I even have one of the damn things. It just isn't worth my money.
