glad u bring that up, you take a ds, you throw it down the stairs. its fine. you throw a psp off a chair, its scarred for life. maybe you are one of the lucky ones but a small fall may knock the cd tray out of place, and or break off the thumb stick, ive evenn seen people just drop it form the waist level and crack the umd inside. its very delicate if it flals on the right spot, and lets not go on to people with cracked screens.. if you drop an ipod, you wouldnt scream half as much as if you droped a psp,and thats alot more expensive.

I used to advocate how great the PSP is, but now I think I'm pretty against it. If you like the games for it, I would get it, but they aren't generally that fun, and probably being put second-rate to the PS3. If you are relying on the PSP for great music and video, just get a new iPod. You get tons more storage for everything entertainment. I have both... and basically have no use for my PSP besides playing bad games or surfing the internet wirelessly.

If you take the right steps to protect your hand held everything will be ok.
If you use the hand strap that came with it and a protective case like the playgear pocket you should be fine. I've dropped my PSP once or twice ad everything is fine. Heck if I'm tired and get off work I'll occasionally throw my PSP on a shallow pile of clothes.
If you protect your stuff usually stuff that can go bad won't because you have it protected

I was in school sitting in my chair and it fell out of my pocket and my disk tray had problems opening up after that a 2 foot fall..... (psp that is).
What I love about it is that when I used to play socom and had to take a crap or get food I could still play its alittle laggy but still good. I say psp is better but its just a personal thought. When I say better I mean better bang for your buck I mean ipod all you get is music and vids ds all you get is low graphic games... Although its not always about the graphics but I still think if your planing on spending 200 bucks after memory and game I say psp is worth it.

Umm.. There's not that many good games... But I like to go online and surf the web with it if I can't use my Comp. (It's upstairs) Also, Theres a site www.aimonpsp.com. You can get on aim through your PSP. It's awesome! LOL. Best thing for the PSP IMO,
Oh, And You can also put lots a music. I recommend getting maybe a 4gb Memory stick though. It only costs about $60. Totally worth it if you fill it up.

I dont like aim on psp they changed a lot of things. Now there are about 40 ads because it keeps it running but some of them take up the whole screen. I only used aim on psp when I was at school because they blocked aim.

I was also thinking about getting it. I mean, I played the DS and it's awesome (my bro own one) and I only want the PSP for Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core and sony exclusive title. The other games aren't that great but I never own a PSP before so I'm still thinking.
