COD 4 all the way.

The hit detection is still better than Socom 2 :)
I'm not completely thrilled with it either, it's a solid game though. My only complaint is that this is one of two, count them up, two games I've ever had consistent lag problems while playing. The other? Halo 2.
It's just ridiculous for me, it takes literaly 3 minutes to find a match, and then it's a 50-50 shot if I get to play in it or if it deccides to look for a new one. Once I get in, I'm guarenteed to play, but it's about an 80% chance my ping is red, and about 50% of me getting booted.
I don't pay $50 a year to have a terrible online service. In fact, I pay zero dollars to play on my PS3 and I've yet to experience anything bad.
That makes my blood boil.

So, I got it.
Initial reaction: Push to talk? F*ck that.
This game is fun. I find it fun at least, because I'm just playing it for fun. Not to be tactical with my clan, not to stomp some spaceman *ss, but just for fun.
Well, really just until Call of Duty 4 comes out.
You can't play this game (and I mean multiplayer) seriously because it is bullsh*t. Spacemen with spaceshields and lasers. Nuts to that. I get up close and personal in my shooters. I like to come up on a crew of 3+ people and take them all down. You can't really do that in Halo because 1 guy takes an entire clip of pew pew pew to go down, and at that point you've taken so much damage, that his buddies finish you off.
Another thing that is bullsh*t are the vehicles. Is it me, or does only one team get that flying purple thing that you can only take down with rockets?
I will say that the graphics look amazing, campaign co-op is awesome fun, proximity chat is sweet, and I totally pwn E Writer at this game.
This really is my first true outing with Halo. I played the first one for about an hour at a friend's house one night. Having played Halo 3, full campaign and multiplayer, I can honestly say that I don't see what the hype is.
Bring on Call of Duty.

I got Halo 3 in the mail today. And well, only played it for an hour or so, and I am already quite far into the game. I am run and gunning these fools. There is a checkpoint every 10 god damn seconds so there really isn't a consequence of dieing. >_>

If you have 4 or less people on your team it's open mic. When it's 5 or more you have to push to talk. It's alright, atleast you don't have to hold the button down..just a simple press it once and then go ahead and talk, it will stop 'recording' after you stop talking..

Ive only played/beaten campaign on Normal and I was very satisfied with it. I'm getting online tonight I guess so we'll see how that is. Its a lot different than Socom online and I'm sure it really is all about head shots or it will take a clip and a half to drop someone.

I haven't played online yet, but ive played coop and system link with people and it was really really fun, I actually found that your shields go down quicker than in Halo 2, and I like that. Its still the best game to play with people you know, because theres so much to do and you will alwasy be having a blast.

What's wrong with the tacos? Why do people compare this to other stuff? Why makes it special? I haven't eat tacos for 3 years. I might try to eat again. It's good though.

Headshots are weird, especially with the sniper..you need to headshot the person in an exact spot for it to count as a headshot..otherwise it just registers as a body shot. I've gotten screwed from this a handful amount of times..
As for team slayer and lone wolves..I've probably searched in lone wolves 5 times maybe? All games were on Epitaph, slayer. One was Epitaph hill, but 3 of us veto'ed and it turned into slayer Epitaph. I've been running TS all of tonight so far and I've gotten all slayer games, minus one which was a shotty snipers game on High Ground..I don't mind the gametype, I think it's kind of fun. Maybe the game is similar to Halo 2 in the sense that you load certain maps/gametypes a lot more than others..for instance in Halo 2 if I ran team hardcore, I would get warlock warlock warlock warlock warlock warlock warlock midship warlock warlock..if I ran team snipers, I would get relic relic relic relic terminal relic relic terminal relic..If I run THC on my friend's xbox, I would get a nice even mix of maps like lockout, beaver creak, sanctuary, etc. If I searched in snipers I would get other maps like sanctuary and tombstone. This is obviously just a shot in the dark but that might be the situation you're in, Libertine.
On a side note if anyone wants to play with me, my GT is Aerlight..I only play on evenings because of work though. 6pm-10pm.

I still stand by what I've said through the whole series in I just don't see what the big deal about this game is other than loyalty. It's fun for the time being, but Years of MP Gameplay ( No Way ). Like a few others on here , this will keep me busy until COD4 comes out.
I love dumping a whole clip into someone only to have them run up to me and club me to death like a helpless baby seal . FUN

As a developer, I can say this is unacceptable. In the end all it does is create confusion and inconvenience for the player.
Sure, hardcore Halo die-hards may instantly recognize the difference of the two rules, but for the casual gamer it's a pain in the *ss.
Why should it ever be push to talk? Games like GRAW, Call of Duty, and Rainbow Six all handle the open mic just fine. In fact, I'd venture to say that open mic is (or should be) the new standard.
Not only does it make it easier to communicate, it also adds to the overall experience of the game. Largely I find Halo matches to be incredibly quiet in comparison to matches I've played on other games, which leaves a void in the experience.

I agree that all online MP games coming out now should be open mic. It is and always has been annoying to take one of your fingers off a button to press or hold another button just to talk..and some of the time that finger is one you need to use in a gunfight..like aiming. Halo 3 for me is no problem though since I don't play big team games, so majority of the time I'm on teams of 4 or 3..
From what I remember Halo has always had quiet matches...I couldn't give you a reason, but I'd say because a lot of people play with their friends right next to them so they don't use a mic, or they have no mic to begin with. Although in Halo 2 if you played in team hardcore or played MLG customs, there's non stop talking from all the communication and callouts.
