Because we live in a society where people do not take responsibility for their actions, and look to pass the blame and accountability for their mistakes off onto someone else. It's become much more acceptable for people to pass the blame when they do something wrong or don't follow the rules.
Speaking of rules, we have one here among many others, but this one in particular is in regards to signatures:

When we say signature, we mean all of the text and images included.
Vulgar and/or offensive material is not permited. Swearing is not permitted. This includes trying to bypass swear filters. Vulgar language or pictures are not permitted.
This includes any demeaning or offensive posts/pictures and/or reference to pictures of sexual acts.
If you do not respect the rules, you will either be warned about your Sig. Or it will be removed/replaced by the staff. Constant violations will result in a ban.
If you use your Xbox 360 Gamercard as part of your signature, the same rules still apply.

Thanks in advance for doing your part of making society better.

Don't blame it on the parents, and don't blame it on the game. It is entirely the kids fault, and there choice to make it.

Yeah, it is the parents fault sometimes. But the kids can easily go and buy the game themselves if they have the money. I remember I used to go to BestBuy and buy a game that was rated M. All I did was flash my ID and she didn't even take the time to calculate my birthday.

If the parent is with his kid, then you can blame the parents for not being responsible. People shouldn't blame the violent action kids do sometimes on video games because developers never intended to harm kids.

hey alot of people have sigs higher than the limit, so stop ratting us out.
Well at least in our generation we wont have to worry about blaming games for our kids mental problems, becuse we will know enough about them to say "this game is not for kids" and not just go out and buy any electronic device our children want. Alot of what is happening with kids getting the games is that alot of parents kno nothing about video games, and will just buy it without even taking a look a what theyre providing them with. I dont think that games are hardly the source of violence in children, but i do think parents should at least know about what thier kids are doing, playing, and getting into. That would stop a whole lot of juvenile delinquancy(and all other forms of teenage bull ****) all together.

There is a number of people you can blame video game related actions to, the developer isn't one of them.
You can blame the kid for bugging the parent so much they just give in and get their brat the game, and you can blame the shop for giving it to them.
It is the job of a developer to create games, not govern who buys them. You can blame the ESRB/BBFC/PEGI, etc for rating games "wrongly" if that is the case. You can blame shops for knowingly selling the game to under age people or those who will pass the game down to the under age kids, again if that is the case.
The developer poses no part in a kid buying a game, they just make it for anyone and everyone to enjoy. They shouldn't have to answer to screaming parents saying it is sending their kids loopy, the parents should do their job and stop the kid playing it.
This doesn't apply only to GTAIV, but to all games.

This, will surely be a semi-rant. The one thing I hate about this whole debate/political campaign agenda hoopla. Is the single fact, and easily recognizable one, is people make the choice to do bad things. Outside violent stimulus (pretty much, except for peer pressure, which is a completely different mindset, pertaining more to acceptance) really has no effect on generally "normal" mindset people. You know the difference between right and wrong, people who in reality, commit actual violent crimes, are then obviously, violent psychotic people, no crap about this or that, and this is the reason why I did this. Yeah, people make mistakes, but they don't go and kill another human being in the process. I've played violent video-games since I was really young, I've still never gone out and murdered someone because of what I did in a game. I can't even fathom the amount of the gamer population that is the same. All these cases of violent games leading to violence are a joke, like said previously, people wanna blame someone, or come up with some reason as to why they basically, failed as a parent.
