Yeah, unfortunately they restrict you to only one item per class; Melee, Handgun, Grenade/Molitav, Sub-Machine Gun, Shotgun, Assault Rifle and RPG.

There's really no reason other than laziness from a programming standpoint.

This also raises the question of why are you restricted to only using specific weapons while in a vehicle? I can undertsand some limitations for the driver, but as a passenger it doesn't make much sense to be hanging out a window and only being able to use specific weapons.

There is a knife on the bridge which goes directly from Bohan to the second main island.

I found it when I charged across the bridge while it was still closed.

It's also easier to find hookers near either one of the two stripclubs... or strolling along the boulevards in the shadier parts of town.
