I just finished the game last night. I'm sort of sad that the story is over. Now I can't wait for the DLC. I want more Niko mayhem...Maybe they will add some more side missions as well in the DLC.

I think I finished it with around 65% done. I am hoping to get it up to 100% but it will take me forever. I do think it will be easier on IV than previous ones in the series though. The horseshoes and clam things were ridiculous in SA.
That may be it. I had been using cheats lately. I couldn't resist. But with this new file, I have yet to use a single cheat.

In my game, I killed off Derrick... seeing as how he was just a shell of his normal self, and all of his family felt sorry for him... I was glad that I did, seeing as how I think Francis' "friendship perk" is one of the better "friendship perks" in the game.

Wow, the bank heist was great. I was killed the first play through, but on my second time I made sure I was well equipped. I bought 10 grenades and some body armor. When we got to the part where you are shooting your way out of the bank, I threw two grenades out of the front at the cop cars that were all lined up. The explosions were awesome. Right after they blew up, we all ran out down the side of the street. We were taking out dudes left and right with your assault rifles. This was almost better than the movie Heat, if not than perhaps just as good. All you could hear was the weapons and where the bullets were hitting. We got to the first alley way and there was a cop car at the end, and a bunch of cops standing behind it firing away. I took saftey behind a dumpster, and threw another grenade at them. Another beautiful explosion.

We make it through a few more alleyways and end up getting into the subway system, which was awesome as well. I almost got hit buy the train after the shootout down there. I threw two more grenades before we ran down the tracks, just to stop any of the N.O.O.S.E members from following us. We finally got out of the subway, and I run into the street and get hit by a taxi, so I got up and fired through the windshield leaving a bloody mess with holes inside. Of course it's the lucky victim for me, since right when I killed him he dropped his foot on the accelerator and ran into me again. He turns with his face on the horn into a pole. Me, Packie, and his brother pull this douche out and then try and get rid of our wanted level, which was no easy feat.

When were going over the bridges, I was slamming into the barricades or cop cars, and was dropping grenades while we were stopped, to try and elminate any other followers. It worked for the most part, until one of them blew up too close to the car and threw us into a wall, totally ****ing up our vehicle. I think I cooked the grenade too long, but the damn cars ahead of me were all in the way, and I was trying to figure out when to dodge and weave. It's crazy how the cars can get so ****ed up looking, and they really won't work, just like in real life. Our back tire was all cocked inward, so we had to get out because the damn thing wouldn't drive past 5MPH. It didn't take more than a few seconds for a cop car to come flying up to us. I threw another grenade at it, and started running down the bridge. Another cop car was coming the way we were running, and luckily, I got a great shot off on the driver because he would have definitly run into us had I not killed him. We took out the pig passenger and jacked this cop car.

Eventually we made it across this bridge, and drove around this part of the city until we eventually got out of the radar to lose our wanted level. I don't think I've ever had so much fun playing a Grand Theft Auto game. It was amazing, the heist was just a perfect mission. It's the best mission I've ever played due to the realism and great AI. It's exactly what I'd want out a game like Grand Theft Auto. **** the tounge-in-cheek humor, I want more missions like that.

I couldn't agree more with your entire post. It was the best mission I've ever played for any game and I wish there were more like it. It was intense.

I had a real hard time deciding if I should kill Derrick McReary or Francis McReary. Both of them are scum in my book. Derrick is a junkie, who blames everyone but himself, and Francis is just a slimeball who's got no spine to deal with people himself. I ended up killing Derrick, but it was a damn hard choice. Now I can call Francis and he'll clear my Wanted Level, which is a nice thing I guess. Even after I plugged Derrick in the face, I still didn't feel right about it.

Godmoney, I killed Derrick because I think Francis was a crooked cop who couldn't deal with people alone. Sure, the perk is pretty nice, but how many times are you going to use it when you complete the game?

You can date LawChick from the internet dating site and she will clear your wanted level, too. I use it quite often, actually.

As far as my second playthrough goes, I'm right around the part where the "Final Interview" mission is just ahead.

I sure hope I can get the "Liberty City Minute" achievement unlocked this time around... then I'm shooting for the "Key to the City" achievement for the 100% game progress stat. I think I am in pretty good shape, provided a few of the upcoming missions don't take me many replays to get through.

A bit off topic but what exactly are these achievements?

The Final Interview mission was a pain the arse. I finally said screw it after a few trys and just ran for the door, which worked amazingly well.
