GTA 4 Troubleshooting

all my other games are fine and also the tv channels are fine. just for some reason this game does not work! has no one else had this trouble?

For those who don't know, the patch is out for the PS3 version. I downloaded it last night.

Not sure if this is trouble shooting, but I can't figure out how to use the cover system, or to hail down taxis. Someone want to help me out?

And, no I didn't read the instruction manual. I'm actually too far away from it right now, and I don't feel like getting up.

Cover:
When near an object like a wall, or a car, press the right shoulder button. Your guy should go into cover, and then hold the left trigger to pull up the reticle, pull the right trigger to shoot.

Taxis:
I think you need to get to a certain point in the game, but I only say that because you're instructed on how to do this during a mission. Anyway, when a cab is around, hold the left shoulder button. Niko will yell for the Taxi, and if it works, the taxi will pull over (not right in front of you). Then go up to the taxi, and hold Y (not press, you'll just carjack him then) to get in. Then pick your destination, get there, get out, shoot the cabby, and get your money back.

You can hail a standard taxi as well. Just hit the left bumper when a taxi passes. Just be careful to not pull the drive out.
