Preordered or Not?

A bunch of us local gamers always meet up at gamestop once a week and just mess around/trade stuff.

I remember when s3 first came out the store was packed, same with GTA:VC and SA, I'm glad I have connections and will get it before they open.

I'm thinking of preordering this, but I'm really not sure. It seems like it might be like a firework and fizzle out quick for me.

normally i dont pre order games at gamestop, since working for them for 5 years i kno thier practices with pre orders and supply and demand. i just pick it up at best buy or toys r us the same day no prob. this time, i only pre ordered GTA was becuse i wanted the special edition with the duffel bag, and thier having a midnight sale the night of the 28th, niiiiice!!!

i just pre-ordered and paid for my ps3 copy. the only reason i did it this time is because i'm not sure what the gaming community is like in this area since i've only been living here for a couple of months.

Due to my past experiences with Gamestop near me, I'm just going to take my chances and try and get it from Target, Walmart or Best Buy on the 29th, especially since GS won't know when they are getting it.

When everybody was in heat about Call of Duty 4 coming out I seem to recall the majority of the people playing it on the first night were the ones that did pre-orders through Gamestop. Everyone else was left outside looking in...Not sayin just sayin.

I guess I'm going to skip Oblivion and make this game my project until September. When the Socomathons will resume.

Well for some reason I am having my doubts about the worth of the shop I pre-ordered it at.

I just have the feeling they will either not have got enough copies, won't get the game on release day, or just otherwise make my life hell.

This is probably me just been my usual miserable self, but I just don't want to go down there during my dinner break and find I can't get it until the following day or something **** like that.

PS: I scammed my college tutor into giving our class a "private study period" on the afternoon of April 29th..... basically we are going home and I am playing GTAIV.

I can agree with that. I don't see Gamestop meeting the demand of all these pre-orders. Of course, they'll never admit to that because... Z Wants Z Money Lebowski .

You could do what I was thinking of doing. If I decide to pre-order it and the store doesn't have it on the release date, I'm going to cancel my pre-order and buy it from a store that has it.
