I've heard rumors to the effect that it was a disgruntled Rockstar employee that "hacked" that mod into the game.

I'm guessing he did it to "ruin" them, but all that it did was drum up increased sales of the game.

It's released October 16th 2007. That's the month right after September, but right before November on the standard calendar.

You can pre-order it at places such as EB Games, Gamestop (same thing as EB), or any other gaming store. It was supposed to already have been released, but I don't want to confuse you.

If you pre-order directly from Rockstar (developer of GTA:IV), you will be paying the full game price of around $60 when you pre-order it. Other stores may charge only a minimal (small) fee, but don't count on it.

I was reading up on something the other day that I found interesting.

A guy who used to work for DMA (now Rockstar North) now works for Volition (creators of Saints Row).

So basically Saints Row has more GTA influence than you might think.

I am hoping for a Saints Row 2, but they left it too long. People pre-ordering this god of a game (GTA) so wont bother with Saints Row 2. Then some people are playing GTA games for 6 months without buying new games, so they would be looking to release a second Saints Row like Q2 '08 if they want to succeed like it should.

Thinking of GTA:IV > Playing Saints Row

anybody wanna take a wild guess about some possible achievments we'll see in the game?

think about some of the crazy things you could do in san andreas, and rockstars propensity for loading a game with "easter eggs". i can't wait to see the list on this one!

If San Andreas is anything to go by, don't be surprised to see "Spray 20 Tag Locations", "Collect 20 Horse Shoes", and stuff like that.

I was just thinking though, many people are going to be pissed if they disable achievements when you cheat. They did that for Saints Row; whenever you cheat, you can no longer get achievements. Some people just play GTA to see all the cool cheats, so they will be getting a decent shock if they are gamepoint whores.

I just want to know the setting of the new one, once I know that I will pre-order it I think. They also need to bring the Mafia back as a major role, they weren't really "present" in San Andreas.

I also think the acheivements will be pretty easy. It's part of the game to unlock the new islands if thats an achievement, etc. Just look at the various stats on your current GTA games (KG of explosives used, helicopters destroyed, cops killed, etc) to get a rough idea of the achievements they will use.

Despite the changes to the number of gamerpoints unlockable in a game, I think the new GTA will be 1000. It's hard for them to cram so many different things you can do into maybe 20 or so achievements. I can see a few changes coming to pass with gaming when this game comes out, there usually are a few with every new one.

I think there will be more than 20 or so achievements, just because the game can be huge due to being next-gen.*Huge as in alot of **** to do*

These are just some thoughts in my head, but I'm thinking some of the achievements will be;

Kill X amount of rival gang members

Recruit X amount of gang members

Get X amount of territory

Steal X amount of cars

Kill X amount of cops

Ect..

I could go on forever about the things that they could have, but I won't.
I just really can't wait for this game, it could possibly be the first game since S3 that I will preorder.
