GTA games have gotten a little boring since GTAIII.

Vice City was pretty good because they added moterbikes and a lot of other stuff, San Andreas was just downright crap for replay value. They didn't really add anything exciting except the ability to swim and base jump.

That being said, I think GTAIV will amaze everyone, even those who hate GTA games. I hope so anyway because after San Andreas I was reluctant to give another GTA game a chance in hell.

Just to clear it up, my comment on the cars looking pretty bad ss officially taken back by yours truly. For some reason the resolution on my cmputer was messed up when I was viewing the pictures, now I sorted it they all look pretty damn good! The cop cars look great and don't look like the typical ol' taxi's anymore. I feel dumb. <-- My improvised dunce hat.

Well, not everybody thinks like you do... Mr. Doom and Gloom.

Perhaps the reason for the "hype" behind the GTA games is because GTAIII practically single-handedly sold thousands of PS2 systems for the mere fact of how different it was from many of the other games that were around back then?

Body Harvest for the n64, first sandbox game FTW!!!!!!!!!

xD

But yah, like I said, GTAIII was fun, it was a lot different then most other games, but I think the excitement has worn off. There is identical gameplay mechanics in each and every single game, just with a different setting and a different, rather unexciting storyline.

You're crazy, I say... crazy.

I guess I wish that everyone liked the series as much as I do... but to each his own, I suppose.

I already knew about the Gameplay of all GTA games. I'd say what drew me to it was the word of mouth of its overall nastiness, simulated Hooker Humping, and constant music to my ears profanity. For a while GTA games was the No Holds Barred king among M Rated games. This new game has to reastablish itself with the Nasty Goodness.

Which was probably started by people like me... who were the first ones to own a copy of GTAIII. Hell, by some stroke of luck I saw copies of the game sitting on the shelf at a Best Buy near work... then one by one, people that I knew, as well as people that I worked with, ran out to the store to get a copy of GTAIII.

Back then, it was THE reason to own a PS2 during its infancy... now, in my opinion, the same holds true for MGS4 and me purchasing a PS3.

I only got a PS1 about a year or two before the PS2 was released so I used to play on my friend's PS2 and GTAIII a lot.

By the time I got a PS2 and GTAIII, the game was barely worth playing but people were still crazy about it.

I think the other good thing about GTA games is there's never really any really bad bugs or glitches. When they add online gaming to IV I think the game will be perfect because of the ability to download updates now.

I think for replay value, aside from sports games, the GTA series is the best.

EDIT -Grand Theft Auto IV - Trunks to provide new feature to cars in GTA IV (News)

Latest leaked information says we may be able to use the boot (trunk) of cars to store certain items. Speculation says bodies will be able to be stored there, personally I feel this will fit with the guy's personality perfectly.

This is also said to be the last in the "first wave" of information about the game, and a new "wave" on information may begin next month. (June)

I got an e-mail last night that was advertising a new trailer that will be released on the 28th of this month. Should be exciting to see.

EB Games left me a message last week or the week before, offering me the "special edition" of GTAIV... still undecided as to whether or not I will pony up the additional $30+ for this version of the game... probably not, but who knows???

The GTAIV "special edition" contains:

- Grand Theft Auto IV the game with special packaging

- The Sounds of Grand Theft Auto IV: A selection of our favorite music from the soundtrack of GTA IV. This album will only be available within the Special Edition package and will feature original tracks from some of today's hottest artists.

- The Grand Theft Auto IV and Rockstar Games Art Book: This will be the 1st ever GTA art book to be published by Rockstar Games and will feature exclusive art unreleased anywhere else

- A Limited edition Grand Theft Auto IV/Rockstar Games bag which has been designed especially for this Special Edition

- An exclusive Rockstar Games keychain to hold your lock box keys.

Other details during interviews say the episodic content will be released next year, but that was in regards to the 360 version. The PS3's content wasn't even mentioned and wasn't on the release dates list for the content. They didn't rule out the content for PS3 though.

The game wont be identical on both platforms but they say its more than likely that the only difference will be the way we use the controllers; saying they will implement the motion sensor on the PS3 and the 360 controller is great for driving.

When asked about a PS2 port later on, "replied by saying that this is unlikely, due to the fact that they're developing a next generation game and that once you see it you'll understand why it won't make its way to older platforms."

The new trailer will be titled, "Looking for that special someone".
