I'm pretty much the same as OME6A. I buy games that I know I can play online (and kill Creep in the process) when single player gets boring. Last game I got with no online mulitplayer was San Andreas I do believe.
I do have to agree with Creep, Saints Row is a big step up from San Andreas.
I know it sounds a bit dumb, but when people ask me what Saints Row is like, I simply say its pretty much everything you ever asked for to be put in a GTA game, except put in an entirely new one.
I think I only played the MP mode on San ANdreas a couple of times, but I wasnt impressed. I hope IV has MP, but it too has to be better than the one on SA. I know it will though.
I've said it many times to other people... Saints Row has officially raised the bar for these kind of games. Which is a good thing, because I think Rockstar could use the newfound "inspiration" to make GTAIV tons better than San Andreas, Vice City, or GTAIII before it!!!
I agree completely with everything Creep says. But being how overly time consuming and expansive GTA Has Been ( Not a Bad Thing ) and the small amount of time I have played Saints Row, I have a- been there / Done that-attitude with open world games. Especially after playing alot of let downs in the process. It would have to something incredible as far as raising the bar.The whole GTA series was my main draw to games before I got involved with Socom Online. The thing I don't like about most , but not all, online games is the constant dull re-spawns where you mindlessly Kill Kill Kill
I always liked the punishment for your mistakes factor of Socom. Ive played some really great graphic online games lately. But none have given me the addictive craving that Socom did. Hopefully, Rockstar does something special with the Multiplayer for the new GTA that will balance out the game.
Everything in Saints Row was better than SA except for driving, it was wayyyy too easy =/. Every car was insanely easy to drive if you figure out how to turn right and when the right time is. But yeah I think GTA IV is gonna be a great game and I really can't wait for it.
Every game's controls tend to be a bit different, but to say Saint's Row is an easier game based upon the controls of a car, is an absolute ludacris statement. If you were to tell me that you blew through SR without dying once, and it only took an hour, I would say it would be an easier game. SR and GTA have become expansive games with open storylines and hidden missions (like finding CDs, pearls, clothes, etc....). I have had SR for a while and am nowhere near the final parts of the game. SR offers the ability to play missions co-operatively with friends (thanks, Creep!!!!!!). When did GTA offer that ability (excpet the lame attempt of co-op where you have to stay within 3 feet of each other and senselessly slaughter people)? SR makes you work as a team! In my eyes, that is a pure bonus!
These two games can be labled withing the same genre of gaming, but I feel that the SR and GTA series may be in different classes. Each release in the GTA novel has been a bigger and better game than the last. I can only hope the same from the SR series, if it becomes a series.
