Grand Turismo series vs. Forza series

Ok everybody. Over the last couple of years, we've gotten the opportunity to see 2 series of racing games shine with graphical quality, racer AI, and the pure amount and selection of cars each series has offered us. I would now like your opinion on which series you thought was better. Grand Turismo 4 and Forza Motorsport were the 2 hit racing games over the last 2 years or so, but I would still have to go with the GT Series. It made racing on the PS2 what it is today with it's near photorealistic graphics, and gameplay. Forza has made it's mark by offering us a wide variety of vehicles from around the globe.


Which one do you all like better?

I love both but GT is way better than Forza. The handling of the cars, graphics, tracks, and number of events is better than Forza. Both are fun games and I enjoyed both but GT just seem more refined. Sure there was the absence of online and damage but even that won't change my decision.

Is it just me, or did you find the controls in Forza to be "kill youself" frustrating. I couldn't keep my car on track, even though Im an excellent driver in real life, and in simulation.

They were fine for me, just too many cars handled the same.

I could not take it. The cars slid off track everytime I tried to drive them. Good handling, brakes, suspension control went all out on me.

never tried the other game....but I love GT games....all 4 of them....might need to try the other if I get a chance

I have the first 3 GT games and for a long time, i was dead set against any other racing game... untill a friend of mine got me to buy Forza 2. The damage system and the more in-depth upgrade and tuning system far surpasses the GT series. Plus you can go online and download cars and tracks which you could never do in the GT games I've played. Can't wait for Forza 3. I'll probably go out and buy GT4 just because its like 20 bucks now and because i have my PS2 in my room and my 360 in the living room which i can't play all the time cuz my room mates like to watch TV in there. But i will agree that the the Forza and GT series are by far the best racing games on the market today.

Both of them are good. Currently, I only play Forza 2 because GT5P doesn't have any updates. Polyphony Digital didn't even listen to us, players, who requested for a private lobby. I've been waiting for months and no updates or whatsoever. I just hope GT5P will get something to make people come back. When I get free time, I play Forza 2 all day. It's really fun when you play with skilled people with no driving aids. 4 laps of Nurburgring is amazing.
