Try Syphon Filter 1,2,3 and the Omega Strain. Though Omega Strain is the only one for the PS2 all are very fun and worth trying to find a PS1 memory card.

Timesplitters is a fun series with Future Perfect being the best IMO.

Half life is a rare game for the PS2, but is a 10/10.

Bro, why not metal gear solid or psychonauts? At least Get MGS3: Subsistence, not only does it feature snake eater, which was awesome, and by far some of the best graphics on the ps2, and a fully controllable third person camera (unlike every metal gear before it), but it also has the original metal gear and metal gear two.

Or better yet, go with the essentials collection. It's 30 bucks or less NEW, has subsistence on it, and also has the re-release of MGS2 and also a port of MGS1.
Don't think it has the VR missions for mgs 1 though.

Killzone... I'd rent that first. Personally I hated the AI and the story didn't make up for it.

Driver 2 I probably spent 6 hours a day for 3 straight months playing that game. I think I still would probably have the entire first city memorized inside and out. I used to be able to drive around with my eyes closed on the highways. Damn.... that game was golden.
