just a hunch, but i think once they decided to go with the same controller, they did want to put rumble in at that point but could not.Otherwise, it might have taken longer for it all to be settled, and the controller to be manufactured and put out.

Wow, some people need to know when to shut up. Seriously.
The Dualshock controller is fine the way it is. Everyone I know either loves it, or is indifferent to it, and they all agree that it's 1) easy to use and 2) ergonomic. It's small, comfortable, and all of the buttons are easy to reach. The controller now has everything you could possibly need, from pressure sensitivity to motion sensing to rumble, it's a great package all around. I defy anyone to name one better controller for general purpose gaming (in other words, leave the wii controller out of this discussion).
I don't know why you're complaining about the controller so much , EVERYONE else is happy with it, i have heard NO, not ONE complaint about it. Why would you want to have to relearn the controller layout every time a console is released, and do you really want to loose backwards compatibility with future controller releases? It's fine, don't fix it if it's not broke, and if you want a change, then buy a ****ing wii. Or just get a third party controller like the Frag FX. Just stop complaining that Sony is being sensible and sticking to what works, and what the vast majority of their games want.

you can think of it that way if you want, but that just gives them more of an excuse to keep hosing you. EVERY genreration, over and over again. Im sorry if i feel like i got gypped paying 600 bucks for this console with its last-last gen controller, but i feel at some point there needs to be some type of innovation. As far as they see it at the moment, why innovation when they can just take your money, since you wont "have heard NO, not ONE complaint about it".
And with that said, the ps4 will 800 bucks and come with a dualshock 4.youll just be lined up at launch for that wont you?

of course not, i just started a discussion on the ps3 controller, in the dual shock 3 thread about my feelings towards it. thier only my opinions and thoughts. You dont have to live by them or even like them, but you should respect them. Theres no wanton ps3 bashing and such, if thats what ur getting at, since the dualshock is without a doubt, a very good controller.
However, as a comsumer, i should have the right to want somthing alittle more nex gen from my nex gen systems(and that goes accross the board for all 3 nex gen systems)?
My last post was more towards the other guy who seems to think that everyone should just learn to "shut up" and hail the ps3 controller unconditionally. other than guys like that, i like talking about **** with you guys.
P.s. sublime that looks totally the same, i actually started laughing lol.
