PSN hacked!
Yes, the PSN has been hacked and everyone could be at risk.
Quote:
We have found out that there has been a possibility of unauthorized access to personal information on the PLAYSTATION®Store through PCs, a content download service of the PLAYSTATION®Network. Although unlikely, it is possible that the passwords of a small percentage of PLAYSTATION Network users may have been changed through unauthorized access, making it possible to view users' personal information and/or use the Wallet for the PLAYSTATION Store. PLAYSTATION Network accounts do not display entire credit card numbers, so any unauthorized access to your PLAYSTATION Network account is very unlikely to compromise your credit card number.
We have taken immediate measures to rectify this issue and system security is restored.
We have investigated the extent of unauthorized access and possible alteration of passwords that could have occurred before corrective measures were taken, and are directly contacting customers who may have been affected by this incident. In order to verify that your account is intact, we strongly suggest that PLAYSTATION Network users sign in to the service. If you can successfully sign in with your pre-set password, your account is not affected by this incident.
For additional information and immediate 24 hour online support, click here for the PlayStation Knowledge Center.

In short, people have hacked PSN and have got into some accounts and downloaded content using the wallet, and changing people's passwords. They haven't had access to CC information though. They say if you can get onto your PSN account using the password you set, your fine.
Not looking forward to logging in to PSN tonight, knowing my luck I will be one of the small percentage but if they managed to draw money from my account, they're a better man than me.

Only personal bit of information on mine is my first and last name.
My suggestion (if they aren't already doing this) is to send an email to the original email account that the PSN was made under to verify password and email address changes. Until it's verified, the account is locked.
But then there's people that use the same password for PSN and email. I personally have really only had 2 different passwords over the last 4 years. Only people that know one of them are my sister and dad (told my sister, dad figured it out but idc).
*Waits for 360 fanboy to come in and say something about getting what we pay for*

Under "this subject", I only have this to say... I have always wished that there were ways to purchase things from Sony's online store, without having to enter personal information, such as credit card information ... a la Microsoft's Marketplace and Nintendo's Virtual Console.

I believe they already have them in Japan, and if you look in account management it has something where you can enter the numbers off a prepaid PS Store card.
I do wish they would release the cards here but we will probably be the last to get them.

I'm pretty sure Japan and Korea have had them since release. PNY cards or something.

I'll be the first one in line to buy one, once these cards are released here in the States.
