were you having these problems before or after the latest console update? i think it was like 2.20 or something.
i downloaded the update yesterday and today i started messing with the whole media sharing thing. so far i've got my music and pics shared pretty well but my movies won't play. the odd thing is that the ps3 sees them, has the titles and info and even sees and shows the thumbnailed description pic. i try to play a movie and get an error screen that reads "the data type is not supported. 800288c0"

Before. I downloaded the update yesterday, and all of this started a week or 2 ago.
It still hasn't fixed, and I don't understand it.

That was happening to me too Warlock, I think there is a file size limit for streaming videos, but I'm not sure what it would be.

I did some research, The "NEW" video file size limit is 2gb. I don't know if that's a combined number or if each video can be 2gb. And the "NEW" 2gb was just updated in 2.20 patch.
On another note....
Why when I connect my ps3 online it kicks my computer off?

Conflicting IPs probably.
