Are you saying the 360 in general is loud or with the intercooler? I just recently took my intercooler off and i forgot how quit the 360 was, but with the intercooler on, yes, it's extremely loud.

I don't know what kind of 360 you have, but mine sounds like a vacuum.

My 360 makes loud humming noise, and it cracks a lot too. I don't know why but it sounds like rustling of a bag of chips.
My PS3 is very very quite, but for whatever reason, when the fans get kicked up a notch, it gets moderately loud. But that is only if the system is under stress, if it's not getting enough air, etc etc.
My Wii makes beeping noises. All you can hear is it beeping when reading a disc. :P

My 360 is very quit. The only time it even gets semi-loud is when I've been playing for 4-5 hours and even then it's nothing too loud.

Have you sound proofed your 360 it or something? Mine sounds like the USS Enterprise has landed on my floor.

If you are looking to cool your 360 pick up an Intec Vertical Cooling Stand, it works really well and won't void your warranty from Microsoft as it is not powered by the 360, it is just a surface you place your 360 on.

My older 360s used to be this way... but ever since I last had it in the shop, and they gutted the insides, I swear to christ, it has never been quieter.

I honestly think my fish tank is a bit louder, and that's stretching it.

I love how playing 12 hours straight on the 360 is in some cases bragging rights, but I leave folding at home on for days at a time without even thinking about it.

In my friends experience, most of the coolers you can get for the 360 are basically worthless, except for some of the more popular ones. In other words, don't be cheap and go buy one of those chineese generic rip offs, no matter how much cheaper they are.

If you want cooling to work properly I suggest you put it in a large space where other objects aren't barricading it in. On a TV rack would be your best choice if you want to get the best quality cooling for your system.

Is a TV rack basically the same thing as an oven rack?
