In the US, the 360 is covered for all damages for 1 year.

It is then covered for a further 2 years against the RROD but nothing else.

Unless he wangled a new warranty, it should have expired sometime in November.

PS: Fazed, didn't your console-hating parent (joke) break your 360 before by pulling it off a shelf or something?

That was an accident, she was cleaning my room and as she was dusting a shelf she hit a peg and it broke and 360 slid down about 3ft into the wall/behind the entertainment center.

....my 360's disc drive just recently broke...again. Wasn't due to any mistreatment, but I do find it odd. Need to get down to UPS to ship it off.

You can file a report for console repair through their website now..I was amazed. You dont have to go through 3 hour conversations, just see if your console is under warranty, and order the box. No questions asked. (of course, in the box is a little problem checklist to further help repair the console)
