The cable doesn't have anything to do with that, the TV has to be able to get 1080p. I have an RBG, and I can get 1080p.

I have hdmi on my ps3 and RGB on my cable box. When I turn my tv it has the info button that says the out put. On my ps3 it always says 1080p and on my cable box it always says 1080i maybe theres something wrong. I don't know where is zero.

This cable. I could have sworn it only did a 1080i output but maybe I'm wrong.

Edit: that one has dvi or vga they do make for tv's and stuff I just picked first photo.

When I stick my PS3 on I get 1080i output on the XMB.

When I go to play COD4 is reduces my output to 720p although Assassin's Creed stays at 1080i.

I have no idea why this is happening since COD4 is capable of the higher resolution but I looked at my TV settings and there is no way to manually change the output. I check my PS3's HDMI settings and all is fine there also.

I got my HDMI cable for the equivalent of around $25 so it was a fair deal. The quality is great but I can't really see the need for one. I played my PS3 on my HDTV using a regular A/V cable for a few hours and the only true noticeable difference is the super white setting.

If you can barely tell the difference between composite and hdmi on your tv, then you got ripped off.

I use my hdmi I never watch tv any ways. My tv was intended for video game use and blu Ray movies other then that I have another plasma dedicated to that.
