From what Ive heard, and read, it doesn't run as good as it would on a regular computer. If I were you, I wouldn't even bother trying, Ive read the install instructions and it's way too much work.

Yeah I probably won't waste my time with it. I was just wondering if it would be able to run high-graphic games like Crysis since it's on PS3.

I don't believe the graphics would be better just because it is using the PS3 to run it.
The PS3 makes PS2 graphics better because they are both SONY products, but it wont "up-scale" any random game you stick on it.
I was thinking about doing this but can't see the point. I have my laptop to do computer stuff, and my PS3 to do gaming stuff. Putting gaming power into a computer works, putting municipal computing power into a gaming console does not. (Generally speaking)

Just because you install linux, does not mean that the PS3 is automatically a PC, and you can play PC games. >_<

Well, the few pc games that there are for linux... I guess. Unless you were to try running a virtual machine of windows, in which case everything would be available to you, but it wouldn't play as well as it could since it's a virtual machine which would therefore slow down your performance rather noticeably.

PC games detect and run on the hardware for PCs. There is little chance that a game is going to run on PS3 because the hardware, while similiar, is NOT a PC. The detection of the components would fail. It is a matter of system architecture.
I could be wrong on this mind you, I just dont see it working.

I really can't see how a PC games would work on a PS3. I know the PS3 is able to play CD's and DVD's but there is a huge difference in other components.
Its like saying you can play a PS3 game on a PC, it wont happen without some modifications or extra software/emulators.
I have also seen a video where a guy launched Windows XP from Linux on his PS3 but it ran extremely slow and boggy.

Thats probably good that XP is running so poorly on PS3. To be honest I can already see bit torrent versions of games up on Isohunt and the like. XP+Bit torrent+downloaded PS3 games+workaround of some kind= PS3 DEATH.
