System freeze

I ran into my first PS3 problem over the weekend.. I was playing Assassins Creed for a long time.. Over 4 hours..and my game started getting slower and slower over time...to the point where I could barely walk.. Everything was in super slow motion.. I turned the PS3 off and on... and it worked fine for another 4 hours ...and then it happened AGAIN. It has to be something with that game. Some type of memory leak or caching issue.

btw, I never usually play that long at a time for any game..but I wanted to beat it and finally did.

Altair rules.. I loved that game. The ending was so unfinished though..

Like I said 100 times, my system ran for about a year and a few months and never ran into a problem. I found out what it was.. If you have 2 controllers and have one set as control 1 and other as 2 then you charge them then pick up controller 1 but its in slot 2 it freezes. I tested this out about 6 times and every single time it froze now I know.

I have never had any problems with games slowing down or anything like that.

As I have said before, both my PS3 problems have occurred while COD4 has been loading and online game.

My step brother has claimed my PS3 started making a really loud noise after over 8 hours of being on but I went to check and it was as quite as ever.

Just wondering Sublime, how was your console on for over a year? Did you never have to restart for a system update or anything like that?

Well yea system updates and my power went out for a day. Besides that its always on, if you are on my friends list you can check.
