PS2 online question

Hi I have a ps2 and want to get online with it. I was wondering if anybody still plays it online or if everyone switched to PS3/xbox360. Like if I went on with Call of Duty 3, would there always be people on to play against? I would also like to know if I can buy a head set and talk to people on it. The only thing I would need is the wire to get from the internet to the ps2 right? I have wireless internet and verison dsl. I dont need like a membership right?

No membership is required. That wire you are talking about is a standard cat-5 cable which arent hard to find. Also, if you do NOT have the slimline ps2, you will need to get your hands on a network adapter and im pretty sure they stopped producing those a while ago so theyre hard to get your hands on (at least here in new zealand, i dont know about wherever you live). If you have a slimline, your good to go. I dont play COD3 but i can tell you that socom 2 and socom 3/CA have a decent number of players. If you do decide to get a socom title, get S2 since the majority of socom fans love(d) socom2 and hated 3. Other games you can try are battlefield modern combat. Im sure you can find a decent number of COD3 players too.

Can you do voice on PS2 or PS3 online just like Xbox and Xbox 360.

I think the majority of online PS2 titles supported voice-chat. To use it you would need to get a USB PS2 headset, and there are countless on eBay for little money.

I'm guessing there are a number of PS2 titles that still have online activity. Aside from the Socom series, I can't think of any particular titles though. On the positive side, you'd be able to play these titles with people who were playing the same PS2 titles on the PS3 (that's right, right?).

I still play COD and COD2 online on PS2 and there is quite a large ammount of people who still play online. I'm sure there are a lot more people on COD3 though, I haven't gotten to play it online yet.
