AC Power Adapter Problem
So I'm playing some GRAW2 last night online a little then the campaign. I die then my 360 shuts off. Then I go to turn it back on. Nothing. Then I notice a burning odor. Its coming from my AC power adapter. I pick it up and notice this

So then I call Xbox, explain the situation now their shipping me a coffin. The unit is three weeks shy of being a year old. I've looked around on some other forums but didn't find anything like this. Anyone had a problem like this or heard about one? Hopefully it will be back in no longer than 3 weeks.

I would assume its because of having sat on your carpet, but it may've just been defective.

Wow, that thing got fried.

Well, I don't think them sending you a new 360 is going to fix that problem, are they replacing the AC Adapter?

wow, never heard that before. It gets THAT hot, wow. I put my on my tv stand, so conflicted said, it may be because it was on the carpet for too long. Why can't they just send you a new AC power cord? or can you buy one at a store?

They be bought through gamestop, its $100 bucks. They want to check it out to make sure nothing happened to the 360 itself and to ensure that the breaker inside the power supply tripped. The guy at microsoft is going to call me when after the techs have looked at it. I had it on carpet not realizing that the supply would get that hot.

Lucky for you, nothing else started on fire after that debacle... wow.

On a side note, with the latest "disc read error" problems that I've recently had with my 360, Microsoft asked me to ship back my power supply with my console... so now I should be getting a new power supply, and a completely restructured 360... hopefully, things will be better for me when trying to play my copy of Assassin's Creed, damnit!

The " Cannot Read Disc " problem is about to make me send mine back. It happens 2-3 times a night. I think I might wait until the beginning of the year, IDK. Please keep me informed Creep on how long this latest repair debacle takes.

You can buy new power supplies on ebay for about $35-40. The cannot read disc error is a problem with your laser lens, they can be replaced easily for about $20, also available on ebay. But if its under warrantee then make ms fix it for you.
