Online Help

Ok first of all i am a noob when it come's to PS2's i have had 2 but i only hook them up and just get some thing's out of the box. And now i have opened it back up(The box it came in) And i want to play online and i must have lost the online start up disk so i'm going to buy one from Ebay and i have a new slim PS2 and most the standard thing's:An online account with a Internet service provider,A memory card(8MB), NEED:Online start up disk,A commercially available network cable. and these are my question's.

1.I need to know i see where it say's "Onlie Broadband Only" Ok remember i am a super noob and i might sound stupid saying this but i am new at this so anyway i have a digital subcriber line that use's a modem(If i need to give any more info please say) So will it work with what i have?

2.I need a Network Cable and i think i need a different size i tried using a cable that came standard with my old phone and it was to small to fit in the PS2 but the little modem i have that connect's to the other modem in the computer room can only use small cable thing's i think so what size of cable would i need?

You don't NEED an internet start up disk. I set up my online without a disk. I just connected the ps2 to the router, and selected online play and it set up itself.

As long as when you connect to the internet it doesn't have the dial tone and the GSSSSSSSSSSHKKKKKKKKK you're ok on the internet connection.

A network cable is also known as an ethernet cable. It is the cable that goes from your internet modem to your router/computer. If you do not have a router, then I suggest getting one. Because without a router, then you can't use the same internet source on more than one device.

Here is a 100' ethernet cable for $50

They have different sizes, obviously smaller is less expensive. How long of a cable you need is up to you. Will you be using it for other uses besides the ps2? Also, if you have a TV in the same room as your router, consider moving the ps2 into that room, so you can buy a shorter cord and save some money.

As for routers, here is a link to Best Buy. They have 5 pages of routers for you to choose from to decide which is right for you.

Hope I could help.
