I'm getting a PS3 in 2 weeks

for my birthday. The games I'm looking forward to the most aren't coming out for at least a few weeks after my birthday (guitar hero 3, rock band, mgs 4, socom, ect...). Besides Resistance, what games do you recommend that i get?

With November about a month away, I was getting ready to purchase mine in the near future, too.

I'm going to have a PS3 before COD4 comes out and that will probably be the first game I buy.

Depending on when I get my PS3, I may purchase Warhawk. If I get a PS3 sooner than later, I'll buy Warhawk, as it looks fun as hell. I'd suggest looking into that.

No, it's air and ground combat. Honestly I would just buy Resistance at this point. It will probably keep you busy for a couple of weeks, depending on how often you play it. Once you finish the game, there will be a ton of other games out by then, including Ratchet and Clank, Folklore, and the long awaited Call of Duty 4.

Isn't Socom just running around?

Warhawk has aerial combat, foot-based combat, and ground vehicle combat.

I've only heard good things about this game.

Motorstorm is definitely a good buy. (Even though I have used my PS3 3 times since buying it around a month ago)

If you cant find any nice games, I suggest waiting until November. All the "hot" releases of this year will be out by then, maybe a few exceptions.

I went to pre-order Assassin's Creed today (UK ETA November 9th) but the fire alarm in the shopping centre went off so we had to evacuate. (A sign maybe?)

If you are limited to what you can buy (most people cant buy every game ever released) then I suggest only buying Resistance for now, and save your money for the better games that will be out in a few extra weeks. Resistance is not my cup of tea but it should keep you entertained until the games you do want are released.

If push comes to shove, just play that duck game for hours like I did.

also, does anyone know if a rock band controller will work with guitar hero 3?
it seems like a dumb question, but i read up on it, and didn't find a deffinate answer. im worried i will have to buy 2 guitars.

Asking that here will produce the same result as a search engine. Nobody but the game makers can say yes or no. My guess is you can, but I could be wrong.

As for what to purchase now, I suggest Warhawk. It's fun as hell and will keep you playing for hours on end. Not to mention it comes with a free headset.

does the usb headset work with a ps3? just wondering.
