PS3 TGS mayhem!
While 360 is over there just trying to hype up Halo 3 all the time, Sony has made some rediculously awesome announcments. Some new trailers were shown, games were announced etc. AND IT ISN'T EVEN TGS YET! I will update this as time goes by.
So, here is a compilation of news so far.
FF7 Crisis Core a hit!
Quote:
|
In the latest sales chart from Japan, it has been confirmed that, Crisis Core for PSP managed to sell over 470K during it’s first week of release with 100K PSP’s sold as well.

Famitsu hints at Final Fantasy VII remake
Quote:
The hype train has now reached full speed with the latest issue of Famitsu, a popular Japanese gaming magazine, hinting at a possible Final Fantasy VII remake.
From the translation, Famitsu states, "A third party game that will save the PlayStation 3 in Japan is to be announced tomorrow."
With all the recent rumors hitting the net lately, we can only assume they are talking about Square Enix and Final Fantasy VII (Whether or not the speculated Endless Crisis: Final Fantasy VII reported yesterday is a separate project or not is unknown, though it may simply just be the full title for a proposed remake)
Also, according to rumor, the Square Enix-developed project is being fully funded by Sony Computer Entertainment.

Rumble Confirmed!!!
Quote:
Big shocker at today's Electronic Arts pre Tokyo Game Show press event. While playing a demo of Burnout Paradise, we felt something that we never thought we'd feel from a PS3 controller -- shake!
That's right, Burnout Paradise is the first rumble-equipped PS3 game we've ever played. Which made us think at the time, if the game is making the controller shake, the controller must be a new version of the Sixaxis!
In fact, the controller we were using to play the demo looked exactly like a standard Sixaxis, except that it had a sticker on the bottom that said "RUMBLE." It also felt notably heavier than the standard Sixaxis.
We presume this is a prototype of the PlayStation 3's new rumble controller, whatever it's going to be called.
The rumble itself felt around the level of PlayStation 2 rumble. We're not sure just yet if Sony is using any of that next generation technology Immersion has been talking about for the past few months.
A formal announcement is expected tomorrow at Kaz Hirai's keynote address.
As for the rest of the EA event, as well as details from today's Sony and Konami events, check back at IGNPS3 through the night.

Kojima podcast: MGS4 kiosks will surprise you at Sony’s TGS booth
Quote:
The eight PS3 systems with playable Metal Gear Solid 4 demos “might surprise you” at Sony’s TGS booth, says the latest Kojima Productions podcast. The developer’s assistant producer Ryan Payton talks to Shane Bettenhausen of EGM and hints at something unexpected about the units at around 16 minutes and 30 seconds in.
Ryan Payton: In our booth, we have 40 [MGS4 kiosks]. Sony’s booth is going to have eight, including uhh.. a couple of units that… that might surprise you.
Shane Bettenhausen: What?!
Ryan Payton: I’ll just leave it at that.
There are hundreds of stories that point to the Tokyo Game Show as the place where Sony will unveil a new control; a DualShock 3, perhaps. However, they’re all rumors at the moment. The Kojima Productions podcast only adds to the rumor mill with these tidbits to consider:
Shane Bettenhausen writes for a magazine and his lighthearted “What?!” makes it sound like he knows what this surprise is going to be. Magazines have far-in-advance leads on stories like this and he doesn’t press the issue at all. He doesn’t even try to guess or act bewildered by what it could be. Such clues point to Bettenhausen already knowing and being under an NDA.
What could a possible non-disclosure be about? Considering the surprise has to do with only eight of the 48 MGS4 kiosks at TGS, it’s obvious that Sony is being very protective of whatever the secret is. As much as the company has to appreciate Konami’s MGS4 being a PS3 exclusive, Sony would want to keep any secret hardware limited to its own booth.
It’s all just speculation, but we’ll know in a couple of hours. Maybe we’ll even see a demonstration of Metal Gear Solid 4 using rumble-involving gameplay mechanics soon; something along the lines of picking locks by feeling the vibration just like old PS2 days?

PSN Store access through PC

Anyway, the Store. We're going to be able to access it using the PC as of today.

Sadly, they are done now, and they are doing Q&As. Go to the websites for details on everything, I just posted some major stuff. They are leaving allt he gaems for the devs to announce and do their own individual presentation. So we won't know about the FF7 remake, and MGS4 info until later

Wow...lots of ****ing news in one sitting. And yes...although I've played HALO quite a bit...I find it a bit that Microsoft is putting all their chips on HALO 3. Which I think won't disappoint to the hardcore people but, I find it being advertised everywhere is just like **** man.
I'm really keeping my eye out for a FF7 remake. That will hook sooooooo many people guarenteed.
NICE MGs4 Traila!

GT5 won't be out for a awhile. GT5 Prologue is being release soon in Japan, and probably not too far off for us.

Since there is only a day left, there hasn't been any big announcements recen;y. We are still expecting some announcements from certain developers on the last day. I will scrounge up some more news today and tomorrow and add some more. And thanks for the link Scuba, for some reason I thought I already had that. But I guess not.

metal gear solid 4 looks creamtastic. i love how the pants on the guys look like pants. in a lot of games, there's just lines with shading on clothing. and this acutally has texture and depth. and just thinking about how all games are going to have this get me pumped.

im still not over the msoft announcement that ace combat is exclusive to xbox. and namco said ac6 is definately exclusive to 360 but ac7 MAY be released on ps3 along with xbox. They apparently made it for xbox first b/c it was the first console out and they wanted to get teh game quickly out to fans b/c they care about us soo much yet they cant satisfy the ps3 owners and make a ps3 port (for the console that got AC in the business in the first place). I cant stop b****ing about this.
anyway rumble is good, mgs is good. Still no socom news... (apart from rumble)

Once they see how low the sales are on the x360 in comparison to the sales of AC5 and AC4 on th PS2, they'll learn their lesson. Just like Konami did with MGS2.
