360 Problem
Well my mom was doing some cleaning the other day and when she was dusting the shelf my 360 was on the shelf fell off at the back and my sexbox fell and hit the wall, now it takes about 10 tries for my box to read any game i put in which is needless to say, annoying. Does anyone know if this is covered under the Warrenty?
Oh I keep on getting the message:
To play this disk please put it in an XBOX 360 Console.

Well I'm not too familiar with the Xbox 360 warranty, but I know that a standard warranty for most products does not cover damage caused by the user. Although, the 360 as a console has so many problems to begin with that you could probably say it stopped reading game disks on its own and they'll tell you send it in for repair under the warranty. Of course, that is purely speculation on my part.

I sometimes get that error when my 360 has no physical damage to it. So I am sure you could get away with getting it repaired. If you are in 1 year of the warranty you should be fine, but if your 360 is over a year old, you will have to pay for it.

Probably not... but I would suggest lying to them. Tell them nothing odd has happened with your 360, and now all of a sudden, you're getting this error message.
Screw it. Companies like Microsoft lie all the damn time... you might as well "get back" at them in some form or another...
Just my two cents.

Bah, you'll make it. You should go back and whip out some of your older systems and play with them for a while. And I don't mean Xbox, Gamecube or Playstation 2 old either.

I don't have anyother systems to go play, closest thing I have is a crappy old computer which I use to play poker and Red Alert 2 sometimes.

Uh...I think some people are forgetting that the 360 has a 3 year warranty standard now. Did the chassis look ok? If it had any kinda markings, then maybe, a very slim maybe, they wouldn't cover it.

I still think you should deny everything, and act as ignorantly as their customer service operators do... if you ask me, it's like some twisted sort of revenge on Microsoft.
Eff them if they can't take a joke!!!

He can be as ignorant as he wants, if it is past a year from it's production date, it won't be under warrenty since you aren't getting the red rings. It could just be a loose connection between the dvd drive and motherboard, and could just need the connection pushed in tighter. Though i'm thinking the fall probably knocked the laser off center and it isn't aligned anymore, thus it can't read the disc properly.

That is only partially true. The console actually is only covered for one year still. The 3 year warranty you are talking about covers ONLY the red rings. So any problem that doesn't result in the 3 red rings, is only covered for 1 Year from production date on the back of the console.
