Now that I see that it bothers you, I think I am going to start a conspiracy with zero to come up with more "rawr ps3" / "rawr 360" posts... I'm sending him a PM right now.

Just kidding.

They need to do a follow up test, and do only the 360, to see which console is better when playing in a sauna, or in a freezer....
I know it can get pretty boring in a sauna, just sitting there sweating, and I want to know if my 360 can handle the heat!

My apologies to everyone reading this thread for my recent outbursts in the thread... my mood has done a complete 180 degree turn since last night, though - I guess that's the kind of effect (finally!) getting a Wii will have on you???

Negative Creep those PS3 coolers are a waste of money. If you have like two feet of space from each vent, you'll be fine.

He is complaining about the PS3 heating up his office. Even though I play with it about 3 feet away from me and I can't feel a damn thing. So, dunno what he is going on about. Creep, is your office a 4x4 foot cubicle? :p

That is how I have everything set up. Don't mind the messyness. It is a relatively old picture, it is cleaned up now. :p
And I have gay curtains. :P

I know we are all talking about failure rates and tests, etc but I have a question that may sound dumb.
I am probably going to go buy a PS3 next week (not use it until I move house though) and I obviously have the option of an extended warranty.
Is it worth £39.99 (around $80) to purchase an extra year (1 year standard, then the other year I pay for) warranty or don't I need it?
I would rather be safe than sorry, but £40 is almost a game and with some nice games coming out soon, I would rather get a game.
Obviously I will read the terms and conditions of the extra year in full so I don't get ripped off, but just add your opinions if you have them.
I will be getting the PS3 with an extra controller (Sony official one) with Motorstorm, FNR3, and Resistance for £425 (around $850)... just incase you are wondering. I will then pre-order GTAIV and Assassain's Creed.

Sony has their own 1 year warranty packed in with the system (covers everything accept user damage), so unless the warranty you're going to buy is more than a year, don't waste your money.
If it does break, you call Sony, they'll send you a box, then you ship it off and should get it within a week or two.
With my PS2 (I know a PS2 isn't a PS3, but it's a helpful story) I had a major dust build up, and got it back within 3 days, so if yours just breaks because of that, you should get it back sooner.

If it breaks out of warranty, it's only like 100-150 to fix... and the odds of it breaking are very slim. You do the math.
