PS3 failure rate rediculously high!!!

They made a PS3 into a george foreman grill. They had to reroute some of the power supply to heat it (so i've heard), unlike the 360 where you can just run COD:2 for a minute or so.

That is not the case.

Out of the three 360s that I have had in my possession, not one of them got as hot as my PS3 gets. Thank christ I have the thing vented with the Pelican air flow cooler... it helps keep the PS3 cooler than ever before... and it's thermally operated, and has its very own power supply.

But you don't understand. PS3 pushes out a lot of hot air, not keep it in side. It is extremely well ventilated and prevents the insides of getting dangerously hot. The 360 has very poor ventilation, and the way the insides of the 360 are designed, the heat is what causes the red ring of death. Intercoolers for the PS3 isn't even close to being worth the money.

The rumored grill was just a PS3 case with a grill inside. The inside of the 360 can cook eggs in under 2 seconds.

But of course... no wonder why my office is 100 fricken degrees, and the top of the PS3 is close to 100 degrees... that's a great sign of having good ventilation. So I have been mixed up in thinking what is hot, and what is cool for all the years I have spent on this planet. You should consider getting an engineering degree... where would the gaming world be without you?

I don't remember stating that I have an intercooler on my PS3, but if you say I do, then it must be a fact. Thanks for taking the time to actually read what I posted, as I stated that not one of the three 360s that I owned got as hot as the top of the PS3.

Only thing I dont like about the PS3 is the 2 foot USB cord to charge the controller... anyone know if we can buy a longer cord at Radio Shack? I think its equivalent to a digital camera USB cord.

Oh yeah, and how we have to manually enable the bluetooth headset in the system settings every time we want to use it. That option should be automatic.

Yah, because your office = the inside of the PS3. the PS3 is designed to keep the internal parts cool enough to work properly. It directs the heat away from those things which results in the air around it being more warm. It is already proven that the heat is what causes a lot of the 360 problems. Why try to argue?

So basically, you're robbing Peter to pay Paul... the unit that I have is powered separately, and the Nyko model (just like their 360 version) mooches AC power from the same unit that it's trying to cool down. That makes perfect sense...
