Yeah... me too. Now if only I had my 360 sitting in my office to see some of these achievements get unlocked, that would be a good thing.

you still haven't gotten that thing back yet? Hasn't it been like a month since you sent it in?

Actually, it's been three weeks to the day... but it's not like Microsoft cares, so why should I? I'm in a good mood through it all... Peter Moore no longer works for the company. Happy days are here again!!!

Lmao tell me about a sucky ending. I think it'll make a great revenge story for the second installment of this series, but jeeeeez what a way to completely throw the game away lol. The online is pretty fun though, just Blinged Out Ride really...

i have some problems with achievements. some are ok, like beating different levels or bosses in games. its the online ones that get on my nerves. its my opinion that theyve kind of killed the team mentality for online shooters. for example, back when i used to play socom 2 like every night, people would try like hell to win for their team. even if they were the last alive and there were like 5 enemies. now when i play shadowrun or something, if theres only one guy left on our team he doesnt try to win. he just runs around with the stupid katana or whatever weapon he is achievement hunting for, not caring about winning the round, just trying to add another kill or 2 to the list and get that 20 points. or gears of war. people running around doing nothing but chainsawing just to get the achievement.
offline, theyre cool. online, they suck. keep them in the offline portion of games. make it so you achieve something for beating a game. running around with nothing but a pistol in an online match doesnt achieve anything but irritation from other people. if microsoft was trying to turn team based shooters into every man achievement hunt for themselves, then they just unlocked 20 points for their gamerscore.

Solution:
Find some people you like playing with
Send them friend invites
Look for them when you go online
Don't put up with the hassle of entering a room full of jackasses.
-or-
You could just lighten up and let people have their fun.

Before my 360 hit the dumps, I could care less about achievements. I remember I would join GoW rooms and people be like this kids a noob, I'd finish the game with 25+ kills, and they'd already quit or said I was cheating, of course.
To me, gamerscore just gives these nerds their chance for the e-fame and more time for their e-glamour. I'm not saying if you have 12k gamerscore you're a nerd, I know people like to play and beat games, hell my dad did it on ps2 and he still does it. It's just the nerds that brag about their score being 20k plus really grinds my gears.

Achievements were fun and new in the beginning. Now that I have a bunch and Sony is using the same idea in the not too distant future, it's lost it's appeal.
It's a nice feeling the first few times, but eventually it means nothing like it used to. (what does that remind you of?)
What makes it even worse is they are all along the same idea. Get ___ number of kills/points with ___ weapon/player, beat levels/modes/songs, play for ___ number of hours or reach ___ rank. I pretty much just summed up every achievement. On occasion they'll throw in a curveball or two, but nowhere near often enough to keep the achievement system interesting.
