That was all rumors, but since E3 they have said it will NOT be dropping it's price any time soon.

I doubt there will be a price drop before the Halo 3 console hits the shelves, but now would be the most "open" time to Microsoft.

With their new chip and the reduced manufacturing costs, theoretically they would pass it down to the consumers, but I can't see it happening myself.

I wouldn't worry yourself too much about beating the Wii, sure people are playing it now, but only as a novelty item. Not saying all, but most people are buying it because they think it will get them fit (maybe I should get one), or generally because it's cool to have a controller that involves more than pressing buttons. In maybe 2 years tops, the Wii will most likely have suffered the same fate as the Dreamcast; revolutionary, but just doesn't hit the "spot" for the most avid gamers. I was considering a Wii at one point, but the childish launch games put Mii (intentional) off.

The Elite is open to Europe in August, the Halo console in September, then it's holiday season. I don't see a price drop until Spring, but that's my own theory and I don't have any previous experience with this so I wont argue my point any further.

Wrong... people are playing it now because the control scheme is INNOVATIVE and quite simply, the games are a lot of fun to play!!!

I'd love to make a wager with you on exactly how long the Wii will last on the market... I'd definitely take the over on the two years that you carelessly laid down.

The console is utter crap, you among many other members should know that. The software, XBL, and games aren't bad. But spending $400 on something that will seemingly break after a short time of play is ludacris. I'm sick of being nice when talking about this crap, because my 360 too (again) is starting to **** up. Its ri-god damn-diculous.
