PS3 screen problem

I have this rolling line going through the screen while using my PS3. It is sometimes not noticeabel but still can be very annoying and would like to get rid of it. Does anyone have any ideas?

Is it a horizontal bar going from bottom to top? Because that is on most rear-projection TV's and even some computer screens. You'll see it if you point a video camera at the screen and watch it through the lens. It's normal and is part of the TV.

yeah it's a horizontal line from top to bottom. I've had my PS3 for a few months and it may have been there the whole time I just never realized it but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something wrong with the PS3 I could care less about the TV which was probably cheaper then the PS3. thanks for the reply

Wouldn't a vertical line go from bottom to top? You must mean repeating horizontal lines, I experience that too.

He means a horizontal line starting at the bottom and moving up to the top.

One horizontal line moving from bottom to top would mean that you wouldn't see it because it covers the whole screen. I understand him, I want to confirm the situation.

No it wouldn't. Imagine if you put a ruler horizontally at the bottom of your screen, then dragged it up to the top. That's what he means.

I got the PS3 just days ago & noticed the horizontal line. The line moves like a ruler from bottom to top. I had problems with the AV connector, so it may be that my television is getting old... I have a 3 year old tube television manufactured by Apex. When I hook the same PS3 to an LCD screen, I don't notice a horizontal line. Do a need a different PS3 or a different television?
