Ok... so i started downloading the new Ps3 update (1.8 ) about 2 hours now... and its just over 50% done, has any one experienced insane download time? or is it just me all alone?

I havnt heard of anything like this. I did have some PSN error thing earlier right? Mabie that has something to do with it, or mabie your internet is just bad today.
When I downloaded it last night (9pm for us AK'ers, bed time for the rest of you), it only took me 20 minutes at most. But, the Warhawk Beta is going to be released, the store no doubt updated, and I'm sure plenty of people are downloading the update as you are as well.
That's my guess why it's taking so long.

I downloaded it last night in like 10 to 15 minutes. I looked away for probably 30 seconds and it went up 2%. I doubt it is just you though.
My update went smoothly.
Maybe you have to disconnect your cords then let it rest for a couple minutes, then hook them back in.
That's what I do when my interweb isnt working. :S

ha no i have high speed, its weird because i dont have lag on anything else except PSN its really strange, earlier today is the first time its ran retivley smoothly since i bought it 4 days ago (dont get me wrong i still love it)

odd. probably PSN. Are you using wireless or Wired (I use wireless with no problems) so many people probably went on to update it it slowed down the servers.
well thats the really weird thing about it, i lag not only while downloading the patch but also while logging on on a regluar day. it really bugs me. and im wired btw
