Having a PS3 online issue

i apologize if this has been discussed, i did a search and unfortunately could not find what i was looking for... here goes

I just bought my shiney new ps3 (woo) and am having issues getting on PSN just due to the fact it seems to take forever to sign in, im not sure if that is just how it is, but im pretty sure on the first couple of attempts it didnt take long at all. im also having issues trying to get onto socomCA, where with my humble old ps2, never had the issue, anyone have any suggestions?

I dont have a PS3, but usually when something takes a long time to load or w/e you need to redo any network configs and whatnot. Especially your network config for CA that you set up on the game itself, due to the fact that you're not using the old adapter that your ps2 did.

Only a few of us have PS3 on here, and I have have yet to hear of any connection issues. What confuses me is that you say you can log onto Socom CA fine but cannot log onto PSN . Your Unit should log you onto your PSN quick, fast, and in a hurry as soon as you turn on your console. Then if you put in a Socom disc you have too log on yet again to access Socom's servers. So you should be connected to PSN already to be able to access Socom's online features. If all else fails take the issue up with Sony's Support.

hmm very strange indeed... im positive i wasnt connected to PSN when i loged on to socom CA thats whats bothering me, is it possible that there is an issue with the PSN server in my area? something similar happend to socom a few weeks ago actually.

EDIT : ok so the problem is exactly as follows i will try and sign in, it will take forever, then finally it will tell me that the connection timed out... does that spread any light on the sitatuation?

EDIT 2 : when i run connectivity test it all goes well until UPnP << Never seen this before not sure what to do about it... any one have any other suggestions once again?

The only thing I can think of is that the servers might be full. I remember a few times where I couldn't log in to the PSN (but could play Socom), but then after 20 minutes, I tried logging in again, and it let me in.

So wait for 20 minutes, try again, and see how things go. If it still doesn't let you in, unplug your stuff, then plug it back in and try again.

And if that doesn't work, you can always cut yourself to make the pain go away.

lol i solved this problem, it basically eventually let me in, and NOW i have dnas error 80710102 so if you have any advice or anything like that i posted another thread

Update: Alright so i made a new network config and i can now get on, the only problem is that it takes quite a while, since i am a new ps3 owner, not to sure about if its supposed to take quite that long, if any one has some useful insight it would be very helpful
